    D7E (electric) general questions

I’ve been considering trying out a D7E for some rough application work, have a few questions for anyone with experience with them. Not anything like pushing hardwood stumps, but perhaps some v-blade work. Stuff that is rough on nose cones and finals. How are the final drives on these machines...

    Leaking water pump solved

Customer called complaining of water in the engine oil on a D6D. Long story short, his water pump started leaking at the weep hole and they drove a freeze plug into it to stop the leak (we drilled the hole to pull the plug back out.) It definitely stopped the leak and also melted the grommets...

    Battery cable crimper

Over the last five years we have had a problem with batteries being stolen from dozers. The problem is always made worse by the inconsiderate a$&@#/*s cutting battery cables instead of taking it loose from the post. Makes me think they are doing it more out of meanness, rather than for the...

    Autoenginuity scan tool

Has anyone had any experience with Autoenginuity scanners? I am looking to get a higher quality scan tool (currently using an Equus Innova) to troubleshoot our Powerstroke diesels, curious if the Autoenginuity is good software. Thanks, J

    D7G 65v (Engine s/n 9LM)

I wanted to share some information that I chased down today regarding D7G 65V's with retrofits. We have a 65V8*** tractor with an engine that has a 9LM004** s/n. This machine was built in Japan for export to the U.S. and we bought it brand new back in the 90's; we have just started having to...

    Allied Winch Pumps

Hello everyone, I ran down some expensive information today that I thought I would share. We run quite a few Cat dozers with winches, D6R's and D8R's most with Allied self-contained winches (the D6R's have W6F models). When a pump has gone out in the past we have robbed parts from winch...
