More than welcome Tones. I'm just glad you guys could help, it paid off. By the way in a earlier post you mentioned a Hitachi cab with ROPS. This is a Hitachi ROPS cab. That is why the delay getting it we were told, it was orange and they repainted it.

    JD 160DLC Cab smashed.

Thank's for the advise everyone. cab is now changed and machine running. we ordered a cab shell from a outfit in Ohio that was $1,000 cheaper then Birkers. Ordered it on a Monday morning and told it would be here by the end of the week, they just never said which week. We didn't get it until it...

    JD 160DLC Cab smashed.

Hi guys, looks like we came up with a plan. We went over the machine very closely and decided to repair it. The insurance company is totaling it out and we will get a $70,000 check from them and they will own it. When they had it on bids, the highest bid they got was $24,000. We have the first...

    JD 160DLC Cab smashed.

John C., any idea where you might have got those take offs? A name or even city would put me on the right trail to find out if they are still available and cost. Thank's

    JD 160DLC Cab smashed.

I guess I don't really know the laws and methods on insuring this stuff. The only reason I know a little bit about it is I'm a stock car racer, the adjuster just happens to be a guy I race with and we get along real well. I do know he put it up on a auction site for dealers to see what they...

    JD 160DLC Cab smashed.

Thanks for the advise guys. At least now we can make a little better informed decision what we will do with it. The insurance adjuster came yesterday and said in his opinion it will be close to totaled. He said with a bare cab labor moving the stuff from one cab to another would be too high and...

    JD 160DLC Cab smashed.

lantraxco, Thanks, I'll be contacting them. A take off off a dismantled machine would be ok, but I wouldn't think there would be much used for a 160 that was in decent shape.

    JD 160DLC Cab smashed.

JD 160DLC Cab smashed. Have any of you replaced the cab on a 160DLC? Today one of our trucks got ran off the road, the trailer went into a deep ditch and the hoe fell off (pulled the tie down rings right off the trailer)and rolled onto the cab side of the machine completely destroying the cab...

    Massey Ferguson 30B or 30E?

Ok, I think I have it identified now (I hope). I think it is the 20C judging by the brakes. It has drum brakes and it looks like the 30B has internal brakes. Thanks Welder Dave. Is it possible the loader was replaced with a 52A? Will it physically fit the 20C?

    Massey Ferguson 30B or 30E?

Thanks for the reply. The hoe and loader bucket are direct link not four link. It does have manual shuttle 6 speed (3 speed with hi & low). I also found out I was wrong about the 20C having 75" ( actually74.5") wheel base, that is the 20B. The 20c is a 77" wheel base as well as the 30B. So now...

    Service Manual Trading Post

I am looking for a service / shop manual and a operators manual for a Massey Ferguson 30B or E tractor loaded with a hoe.

    Massey Ferguson 30B or 30E?

A couple month ago I picked up a Massey Tractor/loader/back hoe. The guy selling claimed it was a 50C. I knew it was not by the fact it had a 3 cyl Perkins diesel and not the 4 cyl in the 50C. I then thought it was a 20C going by the decals on the loader, but this thing has had at least 4...

    JD 160lc travel speed trouble

thanks for the new information again. The info on readings will be a real help, I was wondering what everything was supposed to read and I cant seem to find the stuff I need in the service manual. Unfortunately we can't make it duplicate the travel problem at will, totally random. i'm not sure...

    JD 160lc travel speed trouble

Thanks, good information. I messed with it a little today. I used a jumper wire to try to pull up a diagnostic code. If I did it right it came up with code11 and in the book they say that it is " Pump 2 {5-spool) Pressure Sensor". So I put pump 1 wire on pump 2 sensor and pump 2 wires on pump...

    JD 160lc travel speed trouble

Thanks to your help I think I'm narrowing it down to the pressure sensors (I think). I was talking to a operator about it and he said a couple times it slowed down while digging also. I didn't know that until now. It also seems one track looses power some times also. So here is my thinking. It...

    JD 160lc travel speed trouble

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure of the year of the machine, I can find out when I get back to work (off a couple days).I had no idea those sensors did all that. I most likely would not have checked them without you telling me about them. I will have to check them and I guess if I don't find...

    JD 160lc travel speed trouble

I hope maybe some one here can help. We have a John Deere 160lc we are having trouble with the travel speed. What it's doing is when it is in high (rabit) it goes into slow speed occasionally with the switch still in high. The problem is getting worse, it used to do it occasionally and return...

    Massey Ferguson 20C questions

Thanks, at 9500lbs I should be able to use my trailer and not need a bigger one. I was actually thinking Cat paint also, we have some in the shop already.
