    855D crawler air filter removal

I finally got the air filters out. Both the inner and outer air filter have wing nuts that hold them in place. The inner filter was so clogged it imploded and deformed such that is diameter was like a triangle,. It would not release the outer filter. I had to beat on it with a chisel and hammer...

    855D crawler air filter removal

Guys I’m struggling to get this air filter out. It’s hanging very abruptly in the same spot every time I try to slide it. Whatever it is it’s a very hard positive stop. Is there a trick to this? Pulling as hard as I can and it is not budging one iota.

1845C hydraulic hose for tilt cylinder.

I am wondering if this is the correct hydraulic fitting for the rod end of the tilt cylinder on a Case Uniloader 1845c. I think the correct fitting is a Weatherhead 06U-R08.

    1845C boom question.

Thanks guys, I read a lot about the parking break system, it's one of the only things folks dislike about this machine. I saw some pretty tore up cluster sprockets where they attempted to drive while the pin was partially engaged. I have these manuals arriving on Saturday. .

    1845C boom question.

Thanks KSSS. everything looks good except for the rubber boot on one side needs reattached. I had to clean out the pan under my feed to get access to the two hyd motors that drive the thing to adjust the chains. Been breaking up the asphalt like material and vacuuming it out. It had encased...

    1845C Chain Access Cover Gaskets

Thanks for all the really good advice! You guys are great! I was pretty happy with the gaskets, I cleaned up the covers really good and then using a stainless-steel wire brush scrubbed the gasket mating surface lightly with some acetone and quickly wiped off with a clean rag. That stuff wanted...

    1845C boom question.

Thanks Welder Dave, Yes, I read lots of posts about tightening the chains before adjusting them. I left a little more that a half inch of travel in each one. I love all the help and support you guys provide! This a great forum!

Oh kshasen, and thanks for the links. I have already drained the chain case oil, adjusted all 6 chains, greased the whole machine, changed the engine oil and filter. Changed the fan belt. Tonight replacing the hydraulic fluid and filter as well as fuel filter. Also put in a new seat. I have...

    1845C boom question.

Thanks kshanson! I intend to get a manual if the guy who sold it to me cannot find one. Nothing above the drivers seat except for those three holes where the glove box once resided. There was a plastic case bolted behind the seat that looked to be for a manual, but it was empty. You can see...

    1845C Chain Access Cover Gaskets

I've gotten the chian access ports all nice and clean, and have gotten new gaskets. Any tips on installing these to help prevent water from getting into the chain tanks? I was wondering if coating the gaskets with some thick high temp grease may help seal them. I don't really want to use...

    1845C Muffler Clamp

I noticed my muffler clamp had slid forward. I realized it had broken at the clamp point. Looks like the bolt and nut backed out because they were missing. So with no bolt, it allowed the clamp to vibrate until it finally fatigued and snapped off. I realized after I repaired it, that there...

    Case 1845c oil

I was wondering the exact same thing. I just purchased a 1994 1845C and was changing all the fluids. I to read engine oil capacity was 6.7 quarts. I checked the oil level before draining, and it was right at the full mark. When I drained it, I got about 3 gallons in a 5-gallon bucket. It...
