Cat 308 swing gear/brake weird sound

I bought a 2019 next gen 308 a few months back. It has 1450 hrs. Machine was always well greased and maintained prior to me owning it. The issue I’m having is a little odd and maybe nothing to worry about. When swinging the bearing feels tight and smooth. Although the brake or the swing motor...

    Kubota kx080-3 vs. Kx080-4 reliability

I always used ISO 32 from April. I think the trick is to change your oil and filter frequently. My intervals are 500hrs filter and 1000 oil.

SANY SY 80 Vs. KX 080-4

Picked up this girl! 1300 hrs. Owner operator. Insanely clean machine. I took over his 2019 lease at 1.6%. it's got full warranty until July 2025. The depreciation on this machine is roughly $24/hr. Kubota $32. And Sany $254! I'm assuming the Sany would slow down after a few years,.but the 2022...

    308 Next Gen common issues

I don't know much about cat excavators. In particular the newer 2019 308 cr. I'm going to go next week to check one out. I'm looking to see if what their weak points are and common issues. Just want to see what I'm getting myself into since it's a new model.

SANY SY 80 Vs. KX 080-4

I'm not in a huge hurry. My kx is still working just fine..I just saw this 308. Looks like it's in real good shape. I wonder if I can take of his financing through cat? I know thats done with cars all the time. Can that be done with equipment? This was incan get his low interest rate for 2019...

SANY SY 80 Vs. KX 080-4

Ya that's the thing. I have no idea. Maybe it would but it's definitely questionable. I do know those little yanmar engines are super reliable. It's got a Rexroth pump I believe. I can't remember who makes their hydraulic system. But it was also name brand.

SANY SY 80 Vs. KX 080-4

Maybe...but at the end of the day. I sat in that machine for those 11000 hrs. It ran at half throttle and maintenance was done at every 250 hrs. So I don't know. I feel like if any other machine was treated like that, why can't a cat, JD, or maybe a SANY with a yanmar can do those kinda numbers.

SANY SY 80 Vs. KX 080-4

I think the lure of trying something different and new is attractive. I've had that Kubota since 2009 and knew it like the back of my hand. Now that I have the opportunity to try a new brand, it might be clouding my.judgement. lol maybe the grass isn't greener on the other side.

SANY SY 80 Vs. KX 080-4

Interesting. Ok...I'm gonna have to think about that a little more.

SANY SY 80 Vs. KX 080-4

Those are all things that are going through my mind at the moment. My kx has been deadly reliable. The only issue is had was a fuel solenoid at 8200hrs. That's it. I did change chains every 2000hrs or so cause I tram the machine a lot of hydro. They do give me good service whenever I need...

SANY SY 80 Vs. KX 080-4

Ya that's right. We dig a hole, the guys plant the poles weather its for distribution lines or residential. I also install a lot of primary and secondary underground lines as well. 8 ton is a nice size for that.

SANY SY 80 Vs. KX 080-4

Locally we have Kubota and SANY. We do have a cat tech locally with a service truck. We have a JCB and Wacker dealer, I just done see myself owning those two brands for some reason. All JCB's that I've seen literally fall apart inside after a few years. Plastics crack and thinks done seem to...

SANY SY 80 Vs. KX 080-4

I never thought of asking to demo it. I'll see what they say. I know in our area we're quite short on 8 ton equipment cause I beu sell super quick. I'll have to see if they have something to loan out.

SANY SY 80 Vs. KX 080-4

I'm finally in the market for a new machine. I'm an owner operator with a dump truck and tag along. Lone wolf kinda guy. I've been like that for a very long time and I like it that way. My main jobs throughout the year are 40% septic beds, 10% general excavation and 50% of the time I work with...

    Cat 308 kx080

I don't know much about cat 308. But I have 2009 kx 080 with over 10000 on it. Super dependable. No major issues, but I'm always thinking if I should trade it in. It's a lot of hours for a smaller machine. All I can tell you is that a well kept 080 will last a long long time.

    Kubota kx080-3 vs. Kx080-4 reliability

I'm just about to turn 10,000 hrs on mine. Regular oil changes and maintenance every 250 hrs. I don't know if it's a testament to a non dpf engine....?

    Cat 259D EGR Valve

I'm not 100% sure if.its t4 or t4i. It definitely seems to work just fine with the egr off and the coolant temp seems normal as well.
