Any thoughts on the new Hitachi wheel loaders.

If they are not modern because of lack of electronics, that's the kind of equipment I would be interested in. All modern equipment is fine until some little electronic problem can create a big problem. FWD

Anyone know of Flositz construction in Florida?

I don't know if it was this forum or another forum I go to, but someone posted that his address had been used by a scammer advertising heavy equipment and someone had even shown up from quite a distance to look at some equipment wasn't there and never had been there. This was several years ago...

    Advice

I have a McMillan auger mounted on a KX033-4 Kubota mini-excavator. I have a 12" auger bit on it. Works fine unless a larger rock happens to be in the hole. Really nice because you don't have to move once you start the hole. FWD

No Cat parts for that loader, except maybe a tire. FWD

    Hough 930

530's were generally 3 yds although other buckets were available. 930 Cats were smaller, maybe 2 to 2.5 yd buckets normally. FWD

    Hough 930

530 IH loader replaced a Hough 65 loader. The 530 is more the size of a 950 Cat. Around 1982 when Dresser bought IH construction, everything became Dresser with initially no change to the machines. FWD

Looking at dump trucks again, single axle vs tandem

Does it have a 9LL or a regular 9 speed. The 9LL was designed mostly for ready mix trucks, It's got some funny low speed gears like for unloading concrete on the go, like curbs etc? FWD

    Steering components

Agree with what TS said, not only is the used supply limited, but the people looking for the parts are not willing to pay much for the parts. There used to be shops that rebuilt steering gears on demand, but a lot of thoses shops are gone. FWD

    Steering components

I had a 90 LT 9000 truck that had a steering gear box on the left and a hydraulic cylinder on the right side. I got a used axle from a 92, I believe, I thought I could mount it the same as the 90, but couldn't go that route as the brake slack adjusters would interfere with the cylinder. I got...

    Dresser 530 reverse slipping

What kind of an engine is in it? A 530C would have a Cummins engine in it. Anearlier one would have a DT 466C IH engine and an even earlier one would have a DT414B IH engine. There was quite a few changes to the 530C other than the engine too,FWD

    1996 cats d5c dozer water/fuel separator?

Nige, I know what you are saying is true. My 936 loader does not have the coolant temp gauge, only an idiot light. There is a correct new gauge on Ebay, but I can buy the new one from my dealer for less than the Ebay gauge. You have to watch all these parts on Ebay etc. At times they will show...

    1996 cats d5c dozer water/fuel separator?

I bought a Cat 936 loader that had no manuals. I bought a Cat reprint operators manual, an original Cat parts book and an original Cat service manual all from different sellers on Ebay. All were in very good condition and a decent price. FWD

    ZX160LC-5N hard starting after sitting

Thanks for the info! Before I start it next, I will see if I can do some bleeding. It is winter now and I am not using it, so it is idle for extended periods. When I turn the key on I can hear something running, must be the fuel pump. I will let that run as stated in the manual. If that doesn't...

    ZX160LC-5N hard starting after sitting

I have Hitachi ZX160LC-5N, SN 1FFDBC70CDE230116, with 1900 hours. If it sits for an extended time (at least a few weeks) it immediately fires, but dies and with some cranking starts up and runs fine. It acts like it lost prime, but if you use it every few days it's just fine. It sat for 5 weeks...
