    Hi nige and db. Thank you for the replies. The hyd oil is a creamy colour not very bright. No matter how many oil changes we do it always stays creamy in colour. Havent got a chance to do the swivel. If you wait for the oil to heat up..(by raising and lowering the boom) she'll track away fine...

    By the swivel joint seals do you have to remove the swivel joint and open it up to get at them. Thanks, John.

    Thanks for the reply. There's no exessive heat in the tank as far as I know. It could be that the travel motors are probably tired. It's a fairly old machine alright but the engine and pump are from the later 215c.

    Hi there. I have a cat 215 with a 3304 engine but it loses power especially when tracking. Can this engine be tuned up. I know the 229d has this engine and produces 157 fwhp. I wonder if caterpillar changed the injectors to get that amount of power.

    Cat 3304 engine using 3204 Radiator

    The exact same thing happened our engine. A rod came out of the block. My 3304 is running fine with the 3204 radiator (Touch wood!). Compare the transmission adapter part numbers in this manual.....it might give you an idea what changes need to be made...
