    Euclid track adjusters

The button fitting is where you put grease in the cylinder to loosen the track and the brass fitting beside it(what you called a nitrogen valve) is where you let grease out to tighten the tracks. To let grease out, use the brass fitting you called a nitrogen valve. The brass stem is in a steel...

    Euclid track adjusters

Over a period of time, usually years, the pressure in the track cylinders will get low. Low pressure will allow the cylinder to suck in air around the front end when the idler is pushed back by something. This can account for the air(?) in the grease. I would load the cylinder to proper...

    Euclid track adjusters

Yes they can be repaired. Bob is correct on adjustments. Nitrogen pressures for track cylinders for a C-6/82-30 is 1750 PSI and 82-40 is 2250 PSI. I don't know what the pressure is for a TC-12/82-80.

    S12 water wagon old

After thinking about this awhile, I might be wrong. It has been at least 30+ years since I ran a stick shift S-12. 5th gear may be all the way over to your left, next to your leg and back toward the seat....they had a rather odd pattern. The drop box or transfer case has it's own supply of...

d7 piony motor shot.will electric work

If you can find an old MACK truck mechanic to talk with, you can use a series-parallel switch and a 12V alternator. Switch makes it a 12V system for charging but sends 24V to starter when you hit the starter button.

    S12 water wagon old

5th gear is far over to your right and back. Sounds like the old S-12 I had. If the air assist on the clutch and transmission stop are working properly, you can speed shift the heck out of it. It well operate better and get better fuel economy than a powershift.

Terex 24b load runners compared to the other competition

I guess I may be the oldest one here then. The first TS-24 I ever ran had a 6-110 up front and a 671 in the back. Had 3 forward speeds and I think 3 reverse speeds shifted by micro switches. Had the cable lip and the dump was hinged like the TS-14s. ETA: Front trans shifted by cable and the...

    Russian electric drive dozer.

Put one blade in "float", then the dozer with the weight and power advantage wins.

Terex 24b load runners compared to the other competition

In the early 80's I watched two TS-24B loadrunners running on the same job as Three CAT 637C's. The TEREX TS-24B's averaged 3 loads to the CAT 637C's 2 loads. All were self loading in red clay and in just about as perfect conditions as you ever get. I always wanted a TS-24B Loadrunner but a...

    Russian electric drive dozer.

The tracks, the general design and performance of a lot of their dozers leads me to think all you need to do is add a turret to turn them into tanks. You think maybe?

    High speed reverse.

I learned in the 50's. My Dad had a cowboy and an operator. The operator some times looked like he was in slow motion compared to the cowboy but at the end of the day he did at least a third more work with half the wear and tear. Clearing land or pushing dirt, he was the one to learn from.

The lost art of slot dozing!

I think the whole idea of slot pushing is to get all the dozer will push in front of the blade so it really doesn't matter that much which type blade you have.

The lost art of slot dozing!

When building a dam and I had gotten my stripping and cutoff trench(or weep trench) done, I started at the back of the pond and in low gear. I pushed everything it would push plowing my way to the dam letting the extra fall off as I went to eventually build my 'slot'. Then I would backup in a...

    Terex 82-40

Here's how it should be..... Two large pipes enter the bottom of the water pump housing....one from the radiator and the other going to the oil cooler. Then a large (2"??? dia. but short) 45 degree elbow water pipe out of the top of the oil cooler goes into the side of the engine block. The...

I cut the nut and bolt on the bottom side(Inside link) and then knock the shoes off the chain/rail with a sledgehammer.

    Clark Michigan 210

Went to an auction back in the 70's. Think it was a Michigan 210 I was bidding on....anyway it had a 903 CUMMINS with twin chrome straight exhaust pipes. Man did that thing make some music. I bought the EUCLID S-12 right beside it.

    What would you do???

Build your haul roads with 'dead' sand, just pure old sand. Throw down some GEO_TEC fabric and put 2 to the 3 feet of sand on top of the fabric......the sand works much better than clay. The sand doesn't "pump" like clay, spreads the "load" over a larger area. If you're close to the river...
