    CAT D6N Transmission Solenoid swap…..

I guess I should clarify. Every time I pull one of these off there is defined outline of normal clutch dust where they mount. This needs cleaned as there is no seal between the body of the modulating valve and the valve body top plate

    CAT D6N Transmission Solenoid swap…..

Also clean the debris off the plate where they mount and always torque the mounting bolts to 18 lb/ft. These modulating valves are very sensitive to sticking in the bores. It's been years since I had to, but I believe you can do a fill calibration through the monitor if you don't have ET.

Cat 330F Track tensioners won't take grease

You don't want to waste your time cleaning out any dirt on the idler or idler rails. You're going to find the end seal on the adjuster piston has been damaged/leaking and you have a bunch of rust and dirt in the section between the outside end and the 2 grease seals. The corrosion and rust jack...

    Cat D6N Cooling System Flush

Cascade works OK, but personally I've found the Fleetguard Restore works better. Don't use the Restore Plus as it's geared to remove heavy scale and rust...

    D6R Equalizer bar

We've repaired a few of these. The biggest problem is the two snap ring grooves which are all but impossible with a bore rig. We set the bar up in a layout machine and overbore the ends about halfway to the OD of the seals. Then we turn a bushing out on the lathe (snap ring grooves are easy) and...

    324D excavator not starting

Where did you get these part numbers? Those are some very old numbers that never came on an EJC machine. To be fair they do sub up to a 245-4630 which is a standard one piece with the bracket and both the upper and lower sensors. Did you by chance remove the plastic sensors from the bracket and...

    2003 Cat 315C Monitor Wiring

I will guarantee Mark250's post of the unsealed connector under the right kick panel is the correct answer. I've fixed many of those connectors for what we like to call "guacamole" ;)

    D7E (electric) general questions

It is all electric and wiring and control modules, but show me anything that isn't anymore. So far so good on the XE. We have close to 900 hours with some wiring issues on the accugrade but nothing else. It likes the DEF since Cat eliminated EGR, but I'll take 8 gallon of DEF a day over the EGR...

    D7E (electric) general questions

Final drives will be the least of your worries with one of these. We have an early tier 3 machine that is approaching 10000 hours, and overall, it's been a good machine. I would say the frequency of break downs is actually less than a conventional machine, but when it breaks I hope you have deep...

850C series 2 fuel control problems

Check the fuel cap/tank vent isnt plugged and drawing a vacuum in tank over time. Clear lines may not show anything if its not moving any fuel but a supply pressure test will.

    Deere 450CLC timing issues.

According to MG's capture, it looks like your cam is retarded.

    Deere 450CLC timing issues.

Looks like mg has you covered with a known good scope capture. I didn’t think about the tone wheel being loose, but is a great place to look. Don’t mess around with that water pump either. When the pump bearing goes out, you won’t hear or notice anything until the front gear train is totally...

    Deere 450CLC timing issues.

Have you closely checked all wiring on CPS and CKP? Make absolutely sure all terminals are pinned to the correct slots at all connectors. Give all the wires a good firm tug at all connectors to verify the terminals are crimped correctly to wire, and the terminals are seated to connector body...

Not sure on this D6T issue

Pull the radiator cap when cold before starting and let us know if there's any diesel floating on top
