    What's your hoe doing?

I wanted to do something like that but needed to use it before I had time to get pipe. I might get some pipe or tube and cobble together a repair. Won't have time to really get into it for awhile. I'm hoping before then I have time to hit the buy scrap metal by the pound place.

    What's your hoe doing?

I use a chain to help keep the big ones in the bucket.

    TLB snow removal

I got this plow off marketplacea couple years ago, old dumptruck plow that previous owner welded up "brackets" to chain on to bucket. Makes quick plowing of a foot of snow on my quarter mile driveway.

    What's your hoe doing?

Yea Chinesium and the load point is the thinnest area of metal. If the pin was close to the bucket the load would be into the bracket instead of out of it. I had planned to beef up stuff but needed to get some work done while I was off my day job. Back to work tomorrow, so not much time to mess...

    What's your hoe doing?

Well this isn't going well. I barely got to use the thumb, my wife used it about a day resetting a rock wall and the bracket is pretty much trashed. I'm pondering my options but here are pics. One pin bent but I'm not surprised by that.. My theory is I had to mount the bracket pretty high on...

    What's your hoe doing?

I read several other posts here including yours Tink. I have the other bracket that came with the thumb kit and a longer cylinder to get more stroke so it's a real thumb. but I'm out of funds for a bit. Life has been $$ lately. I'm going to spend a little bit on steel and reinforce what I have...

    What's your hoe doing?

Well my unit got some attention this week. It shut off while my wife was driving, found a bad fuse contact melted fuse and corrosion on a relay. Easy enough. But the excitement is I finally got my titan thumb bracket welded on. I have some figuring to do to get a power thumb but it's a vast...

Large backhoe $50k or less with the fewest emissions problems. What years should I be looking at?

I put a similar setup together, I put a tire valve stem on it so it can hold a couple psi while I wrench on stuff/ check for leaks etc.

    580ck battery 31T AcDelco

A 31p is the battery mine (not a Case) had and I replaced with the same thing. It's the same battery but with standard top posts.

Got the 36" straight from palletforks.com https://www.palletforks.com/tractors/3-point/backhoes-and-accessories/36-in-weld-on-hydraulic-backhoe-thumb/122986.html Specs read the same for both the 36" models, if I remember correctly. The pins are 1 1/4", and I'm inclined to replace them with...

    Titan thumb choices

I got the thumb kit up to the backhoe on Saturday. My friend doing the welding is a few weeks out. First opinion is I had higher hopes for the pin quality. And nothing is 5/8" steel but the 1/2" looks plenty strong. I want to get the hitch clips and some hydraulic fittings figured out before we...

If your referring to the cinder blocks they are just leaning against the rocks, I'm to lazy to find another spot for them. I have piles of rock to build with, and a couple half built walls to work on this year.

    Titan thumb choices

Nor familiar with sweetgums, but I have a hillside in Idaho and a few huge Doug fir stumps I've pulled and usually have only 90-180 degrees around tree to work from. To hard to pull from the uphill side... The weather doesn't look promising for outside work tomorrow. Probably not going to weld...

    Titan thumb choices

I have a bunch of granite boulders, that have been dug up around the place and am planning to turn them into more retaining wall. That and the brush piles are why I got the thumb. I can see lots of angles not playing nice. I hope to start my install this weekend.

I don't have an extendahoe but the control pedal maybe the correct type and I do have holes in the floor for it. So if I found one it might be the best option, but I have a Volvo BL60 so it's not the common parts...

    Titan thumb choices

I have, I really haven't had much time to look into it. My lack of experience with hydraulic parts means I was struggling with what to look for. I know the hoses going to/from the hammer valve are 3/4". Not sure if adapting down is ok, or do I want to upsize valve. At this point I'll get the...

    Titan thumb choices

I'd like to put it on a foot pedal, but I haven't found one yet that's 2 way, and not pilot control. But I just searched ebay and a couple hydraulic sites. Found a part number for the oem extendable dipper pedal but just found diagrams and not prices and I'm sure a new one, if available, is more...

    Titan thumb choices

NH575, your posts are the ones making me think I could get away with the manual thumb. But Tinkerer and several things including fact the wife operates the backhoe sometimes makes me want hydraulic. So I bit the bullet and ordered the hydraulic thumb kit this morning. I have breaker plumbing...

    Titan thumb choices

So I'm going to get a thumb for my backhoe, and I'd like to get the hydraulic model. But I'm not sure I'll have time to figure out making the hydraulics work before I need to put it to use. I do have a hammer/breaker circuit, but not sure what setup it is, but figure it's probably a one way...
