CASE 1845c Restoration. Follow my progress!

Wondering if you had any control valves or pumps rebuilt? If so, di you do it yourself or drop it off to the dealer/shop while you were sprucing up the paint?

Case 430 drive train clicking noise.

I'm scared to overhaul my chain cases for all these reasons, but it needs to get done this summer. Luckily I use the machine lightly. The clicking noise...I had same noise on my 1845c and it was the parking brake pin on one side that needed adjusted.

Case 1845c ('91) Aux Hydraulic Controls Help

I'm running a 3pt adapter attachment (has 3pt connections plus a hydraulic motor with PTO output). Its motor is rated for 14-20gpm, and my 1845c is 16gpm. Tiller is only a 50" and using it in an existing garden -- nothing severe. Only other attachments I've run on aux were just cylinders -- no...

Case 1845c ('91) Aux Hydraulic Controls Help

Running a small hydraulic tiller off my aux hydraulics. When I press the pedal either direction the flow seems slow based on the slow rotation of the tiller. But when I bump the left-hand control handle up (towards boom-up), I get much higher flow and it runs the tiller great. Just kind of a...

    New-to-Me 1845C -- questions, etc

Nope. I'm just going to assume that putting the left hand control in the neutral position allows full flow to the aux hydro. I'm stunned the owner manual and the set of sealer shop manuals I have doesn't really cover how the aux hydro works.

    New-to-Me 1845C -- questions, etc

May have answered my own question....my old man read the sight gage on the hydraulic reservoir wrong. It was a mere 15-qt low after purging the old fluid and adding new -- that's all, LOL. There was a smudge on the sight glass and he thought it was actually showing fluid. Sump is 42-qt. Good...

    Which coolant? Case 1845C Cummins

I used to work for purchasing at Honeywell when they owned Prestone (when they owned Prestone-FRAM-Autolite-Bendix-Holts). The pre-diluted stuff is simply convenient. So you're getting less ethylene glycol, but gaining the convenience of the pre-mix. Since tap water (city or well) can be full...

    New-to-Me 1845C -- questions, etc

Next question.... Aux hydraulics. I'm running a 50" tiller on the front. Pressing the pedal gives me slow power. But when I move the left drive hand lever "up" a tad (just short of a boom-up signal) I get full power. Is this normal? Or is there something amiss in my flow control?

CASE 1845c Restoration. Follow my progress!

Looks great! Wish I had another steer or a gantry crane to disassemble my 1845c and give her a make-over like this.

Case 1845c questions: Block heater, parking brake, hydraulic hoses

GO CHIEFS! And I'm in crappy Browns and Lions country. Was so sad to see everything that happened to KHunt -- we both went to UofToledo. Larpy...if you haven't done so already for your block heater, buy the new block heater and then just try replacing the cord. The interface / pins get a little...

CASE 1845c Restoration. Follow my progress!

Wow, that thing looked pretty clean on the inside in your "before" pics -- definitely cleaner than mine. Hardly any rust in yours. Looks like it was stored indoors for most of its life.

    New-to-Me 1845C -- questions, etc

No prob. - The cross-over is "Prince DRV-2HH Double Relief Valve, Differential Poppet, Cast Iron, 3000 psi, 30 gpm", cost me $78 on Amazon. - Meyer plow with HD quick-attach mount was $350 for sale locally - Angle cylinders are 1-1/2 x 10" (16-1/4" to 26-1/4" length with 5/8" pin) and were...

    New-to-Me 1845C -- questions, etc

It's a Meyer 7'6" plow with a quick-attach plate & braces. I bought it like that used, but the prev owner had welded a pair of tubes to keep the plow straight -- no angle cylinders. I added a pair of new 12" angle cylinders, added a cross-over relief, plumbed it up, and obviously cut the...

    New-to-Me 1845C -- questions, etc

Parked inside a pole barn. I do have ether-start, but only use when I really need to. Usually when it's freezing or colder, doesn't take much time to get it warm. I also keep the battery on a trickle-charger.

    New-to-Me 1845C -- questions, etc

Got to use the plow setup a couple of times with great success. Hadn't had time to get the steel cutting edge apart and install a rubber edge. But I ended up just using steel shims on the plow feet to get about 3/16"-to-1/4" clearance and it cleans the driveway nicely. As soon as much snow...
