    Overload of the Day

I'm pretty sure that was in New Brunswick. We still have a few covered bridges and that one had a weight capacity that was obviously ignored.

    Crawlers I photo'd recently.

I'm with Truck Shop, best to have memories than material. Material is fine as long as it's still useable and doesn't require more wrench time, part searching than usage. I had a fast car in my 20's that I thought a few times that would be fun to be have again. I drove in a similar car and it...

Looking to buy a log champ yarder, is this engine exportable?

Purchase Orders are a legal document in Canada. But they are often treated as a invitation to negotiation. Keep us informed Hallback ( if you can) on the outcome.

    Memories for us old truckers

Truck Shop, when fixing trucks was it common to glue parts? My uncle worked in a body shop for a trucking company and they glued hoods and other items. After a while they barely used a welder. It was expensive glue at $300 a tube 10 years ago.Trucks going to NewFoundland would hits mooses once...

Looking to buy a log champ yarder, is this engine exportable?

Is it the build date of the machine or the engine that matters? I would assume the machine.

    Overload of the Day

Things are alot better over here for old farmers gear on the road. The old joke used to be that when a highway truck is completely worn and not longer safe, it gets converted to a dump truck until its dead. Then the farmer resurrects the dump truck into a potato truck. Happily we do not see...

    Building a custom excavator

Right, it was a 4 cyl. See, my memory is fading hahaha. We had a similar loader on the Rocan Enviro, which was a wheeled harvester for thinning. They both ran the Logmax 3000 sized harvesting head. Enjoy the Neuson, its a nice machine! I saw one on the roadside last summer, but I can't recall...

    Building a custom excavator

I worked for Rocan Forestry and we likely imported that Neuson. We were the North American rep for Neuson forestry products, which later got named MHT. I imagine it has a deutz 5 Cyl? They were great thinning machines. The parallel loader worked great. Just be careful with the log swing base...

    Shipping Costs?

Every Country that I know of wants the machines ultra clean. They did not want invasive species. Even small insects/bugs can be an issue. Speaking for Canada, usually if the machine was washed, but there's still debris in hidden spots like the undercarriage, belly pan, Customs will have the...

How much can you overload a truck before breaking things?

My uncle told me once that my cousin had overloaded a manure spreader and the feeder chain broke. The spreader had to unloaded by shovel so the feeder could be fixed. Ever since that story, I do not overload anything. The risk for return is simply not worth it.

Processor Controls on a Logmax 7000XT

Logmax in our area uses Motomit or Logmate software. Both have different requirements for controls. The levers of choice used to be Suregrip L Handle with an extra keypad added to it on one side. That might be different nowadays, as I know machines coming from the factory can have Parker IQAN...

Processor Controls on a Logmax 7000XT

I agree 100%. You should get training on the product, and the trainer should also demo how to be efficient with the machine.

Do you know what is this?

Funny how my father bought a tractor with a cab/heater as soon as I moved out. He also bought a ZTR mower to cut his mowing time in half. There were a few 353's in my area, but none with that enclosure and none in that good of a shape. It could be something homemade, or made...

    Universal Tractors

I think they use ford components. There are a few in my area, and they seemed to stand the test of time. I would go with something a bit more main brand just to make sure you can still get parts.

Vancouver Island, BC. Logging at its Best!

I was in Port Renfrew last June, interesting place. Went for a walk on the new trails to see some of the big douglas fir trees.

BC logging equipment left to rust

I did not have much time to look hard, and mainly stuck to the main roads. I drove from Victoria to Port Renfrew, then took a road from Port Renfrew to Dundas. I did go to Englishman River Falls too. Lovely place, and the people were really nice too!

BC logging equipment left to rust

While in BC, I was hoping to see more equipment. I did see an old water tank semi trailer new Port Renfrew that had seen better days.
