    Swapping 3406 engines

I have a 92U 3406A (puking coolant fiercly) and looking at a 8SB 3406A (less than 50,000 on inframe no paperwork). I have never swapped engines before. Would the be as simple as pulling out and putting in and wiring, plumbing it and firing it up?

    W2200 lower Conveyor use

2011 with C27 fires right up don't believe it shoots ether (haven't replaced the bottle). Had it running when it was 10 outside this spring. Fired right up.

    W2200 lower Conveyor use

I usually run it depending on depth, and how fast trucks move out and under conveyor (mostly bellies here). very rare to have drum and engine bogging down while moving. No Paving crew to run mill. Dedicated milling outfit, with years of experience. The busy mills may get 1000+ hours a year.

    Your Lowboy Pictures Wanted

Would a KW been a better choice? Trying to find myself a newer rig, as the boss man wants to get me a better truck. Got some specs for a few, with batteries under the seat. I don't get why they don't put them between the frame rails. My current truck that's where they are located.

    W2200 lower Conveyor use

What's the proper way to mill with a W2200. For some reason I'm being told by office that, I should empty conveyor every truck, as the material being carried on the belt when stopping and starting is too hard on it. Had to replace belt half way through season, twice in 3 years. Is it...

Need Ideas Specing complete heavy haul system

It's for Montana weight restrictions 5mph cross bridges at 5mph w/o pilot cars. DW-21 conditions needs pilots cars to stop traffic and cross at centerline of bridge. I've found out with the weight spread out on 11 axles, that permits are way cheaper and faster to get. Along with being able...

Need Ideas Specing complete heavy haul system

I'm not sure on the frost laws. Usually been attempting to move equipment before that comes into effect. The pictured trailer was originally a 3+1 with a 12' 1 spread. With the jeep and the 98,000 machine (pictured) I was just barely able to sneak DW-21. My company didn't want to have...

    Kenworth W900 or T800

It's a W2200 with 8ft head 98,000 lbs. Used jeep to get easier permits. Blue trailer 24ft well 9ft wide was maxed at 20k per axle (32-J in Monanta 3 days to get a permit), maroon trailer 25.6 ft well 8.5ft wide made Montana DW-21 conditions (annual permit via Helena), just barely.

    600 horse cummins

Cummins has their own integrated jake brake that works awesome. I don't know of a driveline retarder available for the ISX. A c15 needs the brakesaver (driveline retarder) in addition to the jake to out brake the ISX. I will say that a good overhead does wonders to the ISX performance and fuel...
