    944 K JD

I'm not seeing much input here about these loaders. From what I hear JD is doing very well on selling these machines. I have no experience at all on them . Our operators seem to like them very much. Was wondering if anyone here has these machines in their fleet, and if so how are they doing?

    Can bus sniffer

This is my thoughts, all this computerized configurized mess started in the automotive industry. Now it's infiltrated into our heavy equipment that we own & work on today. So I feel that the automotive guys are a step ahead of us on this technology. Looking on the net myself as to what they are...

    Can bus sniffer

Mg2361,, that’s great stuff. Thanks for sharing your experience with this particular scope. I’ve been thinking long & hard about one, but never have made the jump. Lots of utube videos out there with guys using this scope. There are just those special times, where you have that suspicion about...

I have the RB 32 rotobrute by Champion, I absolutely love that drill. Weighs in at about 28 pounds. It's not cheap.

    cordless impacts?

Be careful Snow Farmer, you'll end up dropping a couple thousand before you know it, like I and many others. LOL! I just wonder what took them so long to come up with tools to cater more towards the mechanical world. Seems like in the begining it was more for the carpentry industry. My m12...

    cordless impacts?

Very good question John, so far knock on wood, I haven’t lost a battery yet. I’ll probably have one take a dump, as soon as I hit the send button after saying this statement.

    cordless impacts?

I’d have to add too, that I haven’t noticed much either. They do way better than my Enpak Miller power unit on my truck, it really doesn’t like the extreme cold at all. Also would like to share, about inverters. My brother had picked one up, added to his Toyota and had issues powering his Dewalt...

    cordless impacts?

No doubt they will. Technology on the cordless tools & batteries have come a long way. In my opinion, their worth buying now, then they were when cordless first came out.

    cordless impacts?

I hear you about the power, and the wear on anvils & sockets. I know one thing, the rattle to them as their working, my ears do not like. Especially in certain situations, unlike my air powered tools. No problem, I’ll stick some plugs in.

    cordless impacts?

Yes, I can see the battery packs being the weak link. I have two 9.0s that are questionable. Again I’ve only have had my tools now for a year or so. Im in field service for a aggregate co. Never have had a problem with one, except a refurbished 4 1/2 grinder I bought thinking I’d save some...

    cordless impacts?

I’m 51, been on the fence a long time on cordless tools. Finally bought my first Milwaukee impact, after using for about six months or so it wasn’t long before I dropped close to a couple thousand on more cordless Milwaukee tools. They are nice. I chose Milwaukee for the five year warranty on...

    The grouchy old mechanic

Great stories on your experiences guys / gals. What made me really post this, was from last week, when I'm in the middle of a complete undercarriage job on a pc300 on location of the quarry site. I walk out to my service truck to grab a socket, and see a 769 truck coming up there like he was...

    The grouchy old mechanic

Wow thanks to all that took the time to write about their experiences & thoughts. It really has had a calming effect on my nerves. Has opened my mind back up a bit. I know I do have it in me to be patient. As one experience I've had with a young man that became my helper, right out of high...

    The grouchy old mechanic

To me, part of our issues with young people today begins at our school systems. They teach kids on what to think, NOT how to think.

    The grouchy old mechanic

Thanks to all you guys for your excellent replies! It lets me know I'm on the right track & that I do need to work on being more patient too. Again thanks to all.

    The grouchy old mechanic

Well when I was younger, I told myself I do not want to be this guy. I'm 51 now, and dealing with the younger guys that operate the equipment at work, I'm well on my way of becoming one. This mainly stems from, them having total lack of common sense & not much will to want to check things out...

How?? burned through piston within hour of startup...

I have seen this on a 4 cyl. power-tech engine that was in a air compressor. Started great no exhaust smoke and no abnormal combustion noises. Originally had the fuel injection pump off for repair, pump drive gear was moved around to retrieve flat washer that fell, when removing the retaining...
