    my first truck was a 1968 international acco 5x4 gearbox, 120 HP perkins, bogie drive with hydraulic brakes, it sure was simple, it was also slow, rough, hot (no aircond), I do prefer 600 HP with air cond and air seat etc. :)

    I guess you don't like European trucks, I own 2 macks, a scania and a MAN, they all have their good and bad points, euro trucks are definitely quitter and more comfortable though.

    getting a bit philosophical here, the world has been changing and evolving for thousands of years that we know of an from what i know about history our standard of living keeps rising, we are living much longer, most of us can go for holidays overseas, we drive nice cars and live in nice houses...

    the world is changing, not much any one can do about it other than make the best of it, i guess a lot of you guys use apple i phones and ipads, all made in china for apple by a company call foxcon.

    i use chinese triangle tyres on my quad axle float and chinese double coin drive tyres on my truck and kuhmo (korean) tyres on the steer, all wear well and are good value, i pay less for truck tyres than i did 15 years ago, chinese tyres have kept prices of all brands of tryes down.

    it is a C18, machine was built in 2010, it has twin turbos and complies with all US including CA emission rules.

    bryan, your a bit tough on the euro stuff, i like us and euro, i currently have a mack with a 620 signature and a scania with a quad axle float with 500 hp with an aftermarket computer that gives it 600 hp, scania much nicer to drive although i dont like the synchro box, much prefer the 18...

    the cbi i saw working in brisbane would be some where between 50% to 100% quicker than the vermeeer. vermeeer is 630 hp compared to cbi 765 hp,

    i have only used it for a day and a half. mill is heaps stronger, it is not feeding material very well, , light material keeps choking up , i think problem is ajustment of feed roller, i have to experiment with feed roller to make it better, i saw an identical machine working in brisbane before...

    have not used it much, too busy clearing and grinding. it seems to be an excellent machine particuarly for scrub and small trees.
