Lets see your "ultimate" service truck!

Sweet truck! But the crane is backwards!! Did you mount it that way for a reason? And where are the outriggers? Not trying to be a dick, but I can't see it being that useful for bigger lifts out the side like that, let alone with no outriggers. I always back my truck up for big lifts, use all...

Lets see your "ultimate" service truck!

It's a Work Truck West service deck. Brutus and Accurate Truck Body also make their own versions as well. Some guys like the full length cabinets for space. I like the deck, good for large/awkward components, doubles as a nice work bench. I've been working out of a slightly smaller service deck...

Lets see your "ultimate" service truck!

Got my new Miller Air Pak mounted up today, had to spend some time dicking around with the oxy/ace cabinet top vent cause the welder interfered with it otherwise. Need to mount and plumb the air tank in, build an oil recovery system and get a full wrap on the truck.

    Bunch of Pictures

PM'd you the other day Jeff! What are you using for cabinet heaters? Coolant or an electric heater? I'm thinking of adding a heater to my tool cabinets and was considering just putting some small 12 volt electric heaters in the tool cabinets on a switch in the cab.

Lets see your "ultimate" service truck!

All the pics of my new truck are just the generic ones off the dealer's website. My truck is pretty much identical, except my d-side #1 and #2 cabinets both have drawer units and the doors open away from each other for easier tool box access. Also got bolt bins drawers on the p-side #3 cabinet.

Sweet truck Jeff! Brutus service body? Nice setup up, always liked the Brutus bodies. Looks like no wasted space left on that truck! Looking forward to setting mine up, although I'm usually fairly close to my shop, maybe 3-4 hours max, rarely farther. Are you a one man show? And do you have a...

Lets see your "ultimate" service truck!

It's a service deck or "mech" deck sometimes they call them, maybe it's more common up here. The space between usually houses reels, fire extinguisher etc. The back deck portion is nice for loading up pails, drums, large components etc. The rest of the body is all enclosed, welder will be...

Lets see your "ultimate" service truck!

This will be my new setup in a few weeks. Just need to get the welder mounted up, oil recovery and a few little odds and ends, then it'll go for a full wrap and I can move in! And a pic of the old rig that I'm currently working out of.

    cordless impact

I regularly remove wheels with mine, have used it on undercarriage work, in the mud, snow and rain (we get lots of rain). Sent the 1/2 impact in for warranty after dropping numerous times, the last time I dropped it on its nose and the anvil stopped spinning. The 3/8 impact and ratchet I just...

    cordless impact

I got the Fuel 3/8 and 1/2 impacts, the 3/8 ratchet and 1/2 Fuel drill, also own the M18 grease gun. Planning on getting the new 3/4 Fuel when it comes out next year, as well as the 3/8 Fuel ratchet and 1/2 mid-torque impact. I use these all quite often, beats firing up the compressor or using a...

    Service truck layout/organization

Hopefully be setting this thing up in the new year! First two cabinets on the driver side have American Eagle cabinets. I'll have all my tools and cases of hydraulic/electrical diagnostics on the driver side cabinets, supplies, o-rings, fittings, hardware etc. in bins/containers on the passenger...

    Volvo A30/35/40 D service reset

Very interested in hearing about that Texa software, I just recently found out about it the other day. Been trying to find a discussion or something on it, anyone have any more info or a link to a thread?

    Thermal imagery uses

The Snap-On model is just okay I would say. I've used it and also Milwaukee's thermal imager and the Milwaukee has far better clarity, it's faster, not laggy video feed and way higher resolution than the Snap-On. As far as imagers go, they are handy and have their place. But I tend to just go...

    New Guy from Canada!

Hey, long time lurker, figured I'd finally make an account and start contributing in the discussions! A little about me, I'm a 27 year old HD mechanic apprentice, previously a spent 5 years as a helicopter tech (AME-S and components). I'll be getting my HD ticket in the next year or two...
