    580C Cutout Solenoid Repair

The diagram is a bit misleading, as in the actual machine it's kind of wired up stupid in there with one lead going to a bolt on the Shuttle and the other wire frakking off up in the wire loom. If your wiring is still intact enough, it should be right around the Shuttle and the coil down there...

    580c parking brake lever

If you need the entire assembly, give Dale Weiss a call, http://e-backhoeparts.com/ It's really just a cable that gets pulled, so it probably wouldn't be super difficult to fabricate up something or possibly make some other type of lever work in place there.

Case 580 backhoe hydraulic pump seal part number

The 2 big hydraulic lines, 2 bolts, and then a splined coupling that may or may not give you more grief than you deserve. Depends on who pulled it apart last, or if it ever was before, and how much, if any, anti-seize they put on there before reinstalling it. A stuck one of those things makes...

    580c parking brake lever

The bucket and/or outriggers are a far better and safer parking brake, even a cinder block tossed behind a rear wheel will hold better.

    580c stuck in gear

580C is 2wd. Driveshaft is from the Shuttle to the Transaxle. If it was going to be towed with the rear wheels off the ground would be no need to get it in Neutral. ;)

    580c stuck in gear

Not gonna roll if it's in 2 gears though. ;)

    580c stuck in gear

Last pic there, the second thing from the left is one of the two shift collars. You need to slide that one to the right a little bit. Not too far or it will lock into another gear, just up to the synchronizer (brass gear) there and then the trans should be in Neutral. You may need to rock the...

    Case 580C shuttle shift loose

Sounds backwards, up should be forward. Maybe someone has also jacked the linkage up or turned the shaft (#20) around in there so it's facing right versus left. https://partstore.casece.com/us/parts-search.html#epc::mr49912ar793588

    Case 580c engine detonation?

x2 on having thepumpguysc go over the thing. I sent him mine when I did my rebuild as the plastic ring in there was a goner anyway and had it rebuilt and upgraded with the metal one. Good guy, and if you don't like his prices, take it to pretty much any diesel shop and get a quote for a rebuild...

    shuttle cutout not working

If all you have is the coil, the Diode and 12v, then you need to make sure you are putting the 12v and Ground on the correct lines. The Coil could care less which wire goes where on it's own, but when you put that Diode in there then it becomes a polarized circuit and you need the 12v to go to...

    shuttle cutout not working

That double female connector is for the Solenoid, since it originally had a double male connector. The Solenoid is not polarized, so it can be plugged in either way. That Diode on the other hand is polarized and needs to be plugged in correctly to work, it uses a 1 male 1 female connector for...

    shuttle cutout not working

The 3.6ohms is probably fine, mine measured around 2.8ohms when I rewired it. - https://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/threads/580c-cutout-solenoid-repair.66839/

CASE 580C starts for a bit but will not run. Low power

Take the check valve out of the fuel return line, top of the Injection Pump, and see if it has any crud in there. When that flex ring in the pump starts to disintegrate it'll block up the fuel return from the IP, and no fuel out of the pump means no fuel gets into it, so at best it'll just idle...

    Case 580se shuttle/torque converter

You'll want to do the Shuttle alone so you're no fighting the weight of that bell housing, plus it has the 2 engine/shuttle mounts on it. I put the bell housing in the frame first, with it's 2 mounts loose a little loose. Then I put the engine in, bolted it to the bell housing and tightened all...

    Case 580se shuttle/torque converter

If you have all of the correct parts and they go together with minimal fuss (you may need to spin the engine over via the flywheel or crank pulley bolt a little to get the TC and Charge Pump splines lined up) then it should be in there, as far as looking up in there anywhere to check, no. I did...

    580C CAse backhoe

    Being a 580C, pretty safe bet it's not a 4wd. ;)
  17. R

    580C CAse backhoe

Crawl under there, engine off and machine secured, and make sure the linkage is fully engaging the lever at the Shuttle all the way when it's put into forward first. If that's good, then it sounds like the forward clutch pack in the shuttle has finally given up, as it gets all the abuse from...

Case 580K with 4BT very slow to turn over

If you're having to jump it directly to the starter then it sounds like the cables/connectors are an issue.
