    Land Clearing Florida advice

This is the ripper that I built up for my Tak TB175. Does a good job ripping out stumps as you can cut the roots with the saw teeth then grab the stump and rip it out.

    Brush Rake for excavator?

I have this set up for a TB175 (8 ton) It is mostly made from grader cutting edge. The back channel iron is for jump turns. I use it for loading / unloading logs and cleaning up junk / slash piles in conjunction with a thumb. Way better than using a bucket; lighter and able to screen out...

    Cheap Ritchie Brother Skid attachments

Talked to one of the local auction companies and they get 1-2 con-ex's in with the attachments for every yard sale. Then sell everything including the con-ex. Coming right from the port and manufacturer.

    Takeuchi excavator window guard

If you are running a brush cutter I would stay away from plexiglass and go to Polycarbonate (Lexan) with an abrasion resistant coating which also has a UV blocker. I am running a mulcher and have 1/2" bolted to the front with rubber washers. When I was starting out I got some 3/4 Plexiglass at...

    Flail mower recomendations.

I like the mulcher when working on steep grades, however it is about 4 times slower than the head on the skid steer. Each has its purpose.

    Flail mower recomendations.

Don't let the case drain scare you. I have added one to a TB175 by running it along the boom and using an empty port in the hyd tank. The hose is not that expensive (surplus center) 3/8 or 1/2" 3000 PSI. I am running a Cimaf mulcher and they recommend no filter on the case drain.

    Installing Tracks The Easy Way

On the same thought. If you are lucky enough to be changing them on concrete. Have found putting a piece of "Tyvec" house wrap under the tracks makes them slide out easier

Takeuchi TL130 Replacing the Hydraulic Suction Strainer - in the tank filter

Something to think about is removing the suction strainer. It only stops large material that shouldn't get into the tank anyway. Here is a couple of links regarding them. https://www.hydraulicsupermarket.com/blog/all/suction-strainers-good-or-evil/...

    ctl mulcher questions

I have a Bobcat T770 with a grey Cimaf 150 head. I run in a lot of 2-6" pine and it does a good job but you need to watch for larger rocks as they will chip your knives. The DCR really helps to prevent you from stalling the head when you are taking down stuff. If you are working in high...

Cat 299D and Vail Rotary Mulcher

Don't give up on the 770. I am running a 2011 T770 with the teir 3 Kubota engine with a Cimaf DAF150D head. It has been reliable and runs good. However I have heard others have problems with the Dosan engine. So it could go either way

    skid steer rake harrow

Might talk to your local road department and see if you can get a used cutting edge from a grader or snow plow. Use a torch or cut wheel to cut it, don't try a saw ( will rip the teeth off). I have welded plenty of it with either 7018 or ER70S.

Cat 308E 2 CR adding a Hyd Thumb?

Another option is 2 - 3 way valves on the boom. This is a listing on the type of valve I am talking about. https://www.surpluscenter.com/Hydraulics/Hydraulic-Valves/Ball-Valves/1-2-NPT-Carbon-Steel-5145-PSI-3-Way-Ball-Valve-Dynamic-DE3L-12-NPT-9-8595-8.axd I have one mounted on either side of...

    Excavator for Forestry Mulching

I have a Cimaf DAH065 mounted on a Tak TB175 with high flow. The trade offs talked about earlier are there. I wired a momentary foot switch to power the mulcher head. I love the machine for ditch banks and steep slopes or when working around tight areas. The rest of the time I use a Cimaf...

    In the market...used excavator

I would take a good look at the Tak. I have a TB175 (little smaller and older) have had very little problems. Biggest thing is jumping the tracks on stumps when in the forest. Have found that doing jump turns with the sprocket at the back have reduced that problem to almost nil. I really...
