655C Backhoe Hydraulic Pressure Supply Line Repair

Just cut it out of there and replace it with a custom made flexible line.

Need help with front spool valves removal

On other thing. The spools are a complete metal on metal fit, so if it is leaking out of the lever side there won’t be much you can do. If it is leaking out the back side of the spool where the springs and covers are you can replace a few orings in there.

Need help with front spool valves removal

I would not use heat, only as a last alternative. If you haven’t already spray the fittings and let them soak. Use a proper wrench which may include an additional longer breaker. The large inlet and outlet fittings on the bottom can be space limiting but not impossible. Good luck

JD 310SG starter going out? Battery?

Could be a weak battery, bad electrical connections or ground strap, but my best guess without seeing any test data would be a dirty or burn commutator inside the starter motor. Easy enough to take it apart and fix yourself or just take it to starter rebuild shop if you don’t feel confident...

What steel to use for bucket pins?

You get what you pay for, but that doesn’t mean there are not alternate ways to get there. I have been making pins for all my equipment over the last 30 years. Don’t even think about using a low carbon steel. The minimum in my opinion would we 4140 or 4340 pre hardened rod if you have minimum...

    4500 industrial transmission

Ford also made a 10 speed. Six forward and four reverse ranges. Had one in a 4500 and it was a beast in that lowest range. They were rare but can be found.

Ford 555E Hard to Start - Fix Video

My best guess is that it was the starter all along. Can't tell you how many pieces of equipment I have worked on where the owner said it was hard to start and it turned out to be a "bad" starter. Thing is, the starter was doing its job just fine till individuals were trying to improperly use...

    310Sg sudden no start

The odd thing is it went from being perfectly fine almost daily and even fine when I started it earlier this evening to nothing. No smoke or anything. Just cranks but doesn’t fire up or smoke or anything. That's usually how it always is, ran find till it didn't. Sounds like a fuel delivery...

Case 580D Boom Cylinder Rebuild or Replace?

Replacement is either China but I think most likely India. I would still call tractor salvage yards and try to find OEM unit that could be fitted with a rebuild kit. Be sure to ask them if they will guarantee what you get is re-buildable. Use to have an old Ford 4500 from 1966 and I found an...

Case 580D Boom Cylinder Rebuild or Replace?

That's a lot of damage! I think all you have is a big paperweight now. Replacement will be high dollar, I'd look for a used rebuildable unit.

    Case 580c Gland removal.

You may be okay, but set screws are usually a hardended high carbon material. If you drilled it out smaller than the full outer diameter (to preserve the threads), it could get sideways in there when you are unthreading. The gland being made of softer cast iron could get damage. Proceed carefully

JCB 3CX 1400 1986 water in oil - from exhaust pipe?

Always assume it is multiple times worse than the owners says! I think, as others have said, that you should keep looking for something in better shape. Spend the money up front and it will be cheaper and more reliable than a fixer-upper.

Fuel Gauge or Sender Issue on a JD 310c

In my experience with various manufacturers equipment, its almost always the sender that will die before the gauge. Different mfgs use differing systems and aftermarket sometimes uses their own unique system. On older equipment the sender is basically a variable resistor which can be checked...

    komatsu water temp sending unit

If it is like mine the gauge setup is not like usual temp gauges on almost anything else. When at operating temp my temp gauge is right at the limit of full travel. I originally thought the gauge might be bad but it met specs if I remember correctly. I even took sender back out set it up in a...

    komatsu water temp sending unit

There are two water temp sending units. One for the over temp light and one for the gauge.

    Komatsu WB140-2N wont turn over

Funny I replaced all the relays on my board too. I thought that was the problem with my safety start relay, but after it didn't resolve I moved on. My unit had a ton of electrical issues when I got it. It sat outside all the time and I believe that was the source of most issues. Mechanically...

    Komatsu WB140-2N wont turn over

I had sent a earlier reply on the work around that I used, but for some reason I don’t see it here. Strange You sound like you know you’re way around electrical so tracing the wires out shouldn’t be that bad. The way I fixed mine was to get a start solenoid like the ones Ford used back in...

    Komatsu WB140-2N wont turn over

I think your problem with them calling it preheat relay is that is a different part that is in that electrical box. In my service and parts manual it does not even show the safety start relay. That is because it is covered in the engine manual (yammar book) not the backhoe manual. You are...
