Excavator operators - How do you know??

All these ideal conditions responses make me laugh. Some of you "operators" need to get out in the real world. I've been in plenty of places where the slop is up over the tracks and the counterweight is dragging on the ground and you have to bang the bucket against the stops to get the goo to...

Who has hit a cab or light with bucket?

I'll admit it. I did the same on a 130 New Holland. Just poked the light out swinging around in a real tight spot and trying to pay attention to too many things at once.

how to determin what size truck to pull a trailer?

That Big Tex trailer appears to be a GN20 which is the exact same Big Tex trailer I own, It's a 20,000 lb trailer. Even if it is a 24,000 lb trailer it's still not legal. If I recall correctly it is stated that the dozer weighs 21,800 lbs. Trailer weight ratings are gross weight. The trailer...

Anybody ever upgrade their cab lights?

Yes they do make 24 volt work lights for equipment. I've purchased them in the past from either Harbor Freght or Northern Tool and Equipment not sure which one any more.

Anybody ever upgrade their cab lights?

If the lighting circuit tests to be 12 volt then you need 12 volt lamps if it tests out to be 24 volt you need 24 volt lamps. It isn't uncommon to have a 24 volt starting circuit and 12 volt lighting circuits and other circuits.

Anybody ever upgrade their cab lights?

Any pickup truck ever built with a diesel engine has two batteries in parellel and is 12 volts. The purpose for this is to double the cranking amps for cold starts. Not trying to start an arguement just think you need to be sure before purchasing lights.

Anybody ever upgrade their cab lights?

Having two 12 volt batteries doesn't necessarily mean you have a 24 volt system. If the batteries are connected in series(positive to negative) then yes you have a 24 volt system. If they are connected parallel( positive to positive, negative to negatve) then you have a 12 volt system. :D
