Replacing a hydraulic hose with a larger size hose - yes or no?

One of the two 1/4 inch ID hoses from the skid steer to the quick attach grapple developed a leak. I went to the supplier today for a new hose. They were out of 1/4" fittings, so they sold me a 3/8" hose, with the correct ends. The rest of the hoses on the grapple are all 1/4" hoses. Can...

Need tracks for a John Deere 50D - Any recommendations and sources?

Not much rock around here; mainly clay and sand.

Need tracks for a John Deere 50D - Any recommendations and sources?

Saskatchewan. Actually, its for a John Deere 50C, not a 50D.

Need tracks for a John Deere 50D - Any recommendations and sources?

As the title says, I need a set of rubber tracks for a JD 50D. I'm wondering what is a good brand of after market tracks. Are they all the same, or are some a lot better than others? Also, I would appreciate recommendations for where to buy tracks at a good or best price. I'm in Canada, but...

How to hook up dozer hydraulic lines to a Bobcat skid steer??

Thanks for the explanations. We do have a Princess Auto and a Bobcat dealer a couple of hours away. Tried NAPA - they said that they don't have these fittings. Another question for when I get the correct flat face fittings. Since both fittings on the dozer at the present time are the same...

How to hook up dozer hydraulic lines to a Bobcat skid steer??

Here are pictures - the first picture is of the fittings that came with the dozer blade. The second picture is of the type of fitting that would fit into the Bobcat quick connects. Still wondering why the dozer would have come with the wrong fittings??

How to hook up dozer hydraulic lines to a Bobcat skid steer??

It's an angle blade without tilt. I had another look at it and two two male fittings aren't the right style either for the Bobcat female on the machine. The male fittings have a round protruding ball-like center piece instead of the flat center piece needed for a Bobcat. Markings on the wrong...

How to hook up dozer hydraulic lines to a Bobcat skid steer??

Just bought a HLT 86 inch dozer for the Bobcat skid steer. The HLT dozer is new - came in the metal crate. It has two hydraulic lines, both of which have male quick connect fittings - no female fitting. Is this an assembly error at the factory? Should one line have a female fitting? The...

Antifreeze for Bobcat S300 - Propylene or Ethylene Glycol?

I checked the anti-freeze freeze protection on the Bobcat and the tester only registers 10 degrees Fahrenheit - not nearly good enough for our area. Then I noticed the sticker on the machine that says it contains Propylene Glycol anti-freeze. The usual anti-freeze tester won't work on that, so...

How can I use Bobcat 900 series attachments on a Bobcat S300?

That looks promising. Any views of the other side?

How can I use Bobcat 900 series attachments on a Bobcat S300?

Does anyone know of a good way to use the older Bobcat 900 series (from a Bobcat 953) on the newer Bobcats, like an S300? The older attachments are quick attach too, but the mounting points are farther apart, both vertically and horizontally. I could modify the attachments by cutting and...

    873 Bobcat overheating

Oil cooled? That certainly changes things. Is that the same or similar to air cooled, with no radiator?

    873 Bobcat overheating

Start by checking to see if the exterior of the rad is dirty; then use air or water to clean the cooling fins. Also, is the system full of coolant? Does it have a thermostat, and is it working properly? If those simple things do not fix the problem, you need to dig deeper.

Case Drain Filter Questions - Bobcat - Any experience with this?

Job done; two new filters installed. I ended up draining the system first; fresh oil never hurts. Bobcat must not have intended owners to change these case drain filters very often!!!! I would love to have a talk with the Bobcat engineers who designed this!! It took five or six hours to...

Bobcat 863 Hydraulic FLUID recommendations please

That depends on where you live and the time of year. When running AW46 here, even in the fall and spring, hydraulic systems are noticeably noisier until the machine warms up. That's with a bigger excavator; a skidsteer likely is much the same. AW32 may be a better choice if the machine will...

Case Drain Filter Questions - Bobcat - Any experience with this?

This Bobcat S300 has two case drain filters - one under the cab and one behind the rear left side access panel behind the tire. The one behind the tire is easy to get at and only has one hose going into each end of the filter. That should be easy to take apart and to remove the cartridge. But...

    What is Normal Hydraulic Noise?

I'm new to skidsteer loaders. This used Bobcat S300 works well, turns well, and has strong hydraulics. Both wheel motors appear to work well - the machine tracks straight. What is normal hydraulic noise on one of these machines? The hydraulic pump is nice and quiet when machine is not...

Bobcat 953 Wheel Motor / Hydraulic Issues - What to do?

It makes sense to cut the filters apart to look for metal; the machine has three hydraulic filters. But there do not appear to be any filters between the blown wheel motor, the other wheel motor, and the pumps. If there is brass in the filters, I guess that one would know for sure that the...

Bobcat 953 Wheel Motor / Hydraulic Issues - What to do?

I'm looking for advice on whether to fix this 1995 Bobcat 953 skidsteer. The hydraulic system would not hold oil, which was dumping into the chain case. So I pulled the wheel motors. The right side wheel motor has a blown seal, which allows the hydraulic oil to dump into the chain case. The...
