    Cat & Can Pic

DPete, Have you used that in sand at all? If so how does it work. Im stock piling sand out of the Kings River and a self propelled won't make it. I know a staight pan without a dolly works but it seems as if the dolly wheels would just drag through the sand. Thanks Ryan

    Centering catch basins.

I may be confused with the style of CB you are using but how do you determine the elevation of the inlet? Every project I have seen the gutter determines were the exact elevation of the pavement and corresponding drainage inlets. I know elevations are given by the surveyers but if the concrete...

    Centering catch basins.

Install them after the gutter is installed. Extend the drain pipe past the point where the CB will be. Make sure you have plenty to work with. After the curb and/or gutter is placed install the catch basin. This will probaly involve cutting the curb and/or gutter and replacing some of it. I am...

    Pete Pics

Nice rig!!!! Just curious why you chose the Pete over other makes? Petes are by far my favorite trucks but many operators have trouble justifying the extra purchase cost.

    Deere vs. Case

sk330 Ive ran one with about 1000 hrs on it. Nice machine, especially for the price. There is a pretty good dealer here although it is nothing compared to a cat. To me the cat and deere are much nicer machines especially after they have a few hours on them. I think you can be very productive on...

    Sprinter with service body

I think the largest benifit is the better fuel mileage while still having a high GVWR. One problem ive seen with narrow service bodies is the bins and cabinets are very shallow compared to a 102" body.

    a rare afternoon off...

I was wondering about the single trailer belly dumps. Why do they use these over doubles? Im assuming because of weight or length restrictions? I always thought CA and AZ had very similar restrictions.

    Skip Loaders.......

thanks tigerotor Thats must of what i have seen. To me it is a good alternative to a wheel loader of comparable size for doing dirtwork. I don't think it would be very competitive when just used for loading.

    Lets see your truck decks

Owner/ Operators with a single backhoe here locally prefer not to have a dump truck so the customers does not try to get them to run the truck for free. Also here in CA a class B CDL will work for a straight truck instead of A CDL you need for a truck and trailer combo.

    Skip Loaders.......

Bob or Farmerted Have either of you ever seen a Cat skip loader?

    Mini loader cost?

The high relative price of smaller loaders has sent me in search of a skip loader (TLB without hoe) based on a CAT 420 or 430 sized machine as a possible alternative.

    Skip Loaders.......

I’ve always have heard skip loaders are a western deal. From what I have heard it is a relatively small market. They are very abundant in California. The John Deere 210 LE and Case and the Case570m are good example of the newest skip loaders. They are basically a backhoe loader with a 3pt or...
