    LB75 won't start???

Hey All, Thanks for the help. I ended up replacing the positive cable this morning and she fired up. Hopefully that ends this saga and I can continue trying to figure out what's up with the 4wd electrics. Thanks again!

    LB75 won't start???

Swetz, Thanks for that video. Definitely helped. I tested a bunch (my brother helped hold the leads as he was here painting doors for me). Battery was at 12.6 volts. No appreciable difference in any of the connections. When the key was turned, the ground side between the battery and the starter...

    LB75 won't start???

Pulled the positive lead off and used the jumper cable (pain to get in in past the frame) and left the negative lead connected and jumped the negative to the starter body and it cranked albeit slowly. Battery side got pretty hot on the positive. Reconnected the positive lead and left the...

    LB75 won't start???

Hey All, My 2000 LB75 was slow starting so I replaced the battery back in April. It started fine the few times I used it. I parked it and then when I went to use it recently, it would just click at the starter. I charged the battery, same thing. Replaced the starter, same thing. Tested the...

    LB75 4x4 fuse keeps blowing

Hey All, I keep blowing the 7.5 amp fuse on the 4x4 on my 2001 LB75. Any thoughts on why? It will last for a bit, then nothing. Thanks,

NH LB75 Shuttle not moving forward

Finally got a chance to work on it today (too hot to do anything else) after it wouldn't move forward at all yesterday. Pulled the directional control valve on the top of the trans and figured I would service it per the manual. Solenoids have 5 ohm resistance as they should which I assume means...

NH LB75 Shuttle not moving forward

Hey All, My '01 LB75 won't go forward after it runs for a bit. I thought initially it was a bad relay, but now I'm not sure. Anyone have any troubleshooting advice? Thanks,

    JLG 450A Electrical problem

Well I had some time tonight to mess with it more and ended up jumping across the starter and it started right up. I'm really beginning to believe the hot lead has a bad end on it as I still had to keep wiggling it around to make contact. Seems weird that I keep having to do that.

    JLG 450A Electrical problem

So I cleaned the terminals on both solenoids and still nothing. I had help and the loud click is at the starter. Once it clicks I have to remove the hot lead on the battery for it to re-energize the system again. Also inside the control box on the upper left side there is what I believe a relay...

    JLG 450A Electrical problem

I was thinking that too, but cleaned the ones I could reach. Maybe it is the starter? I just realized that I had the parts manual downloaded and there's a circuit breaker on the hot lead going to the control panel. Maybe it's that?

    JLG 450A Electrical problem

No idea as it won't start. Battery was fully charged and even tried it with boost of my battery charger. It just makes one loud click then zip.

    JLG 450A Electrical problem

Hey All, I had the inherited 450A running fine last fall. Still having issues with the tilt sensor but that can wait. I put a new battery in it and it was fine for about a week but now it won't start. The switches work sometimes and sometimes not. When switched on at the ground panel the lights...

JLG 450A Telescoping boom hose replacement

So after about 6 more hours of pulling I was able to get them through. I learned a couple of things: 1. Tape the heck out of the hose ends where the ferrule and union are to reduce them catching on anything in the tubes 2. Cut off the nylon sleeves at the knuckle joint. Once I did those...

JLG 450A Telescoping boom hose replacement

Hey, thanks for the reply. Yes, everything is retracted. I have unions on the old hoses, and pulled them into the upper section of the boom about 4' but it's really tough. I actually wrapped a small chain around the old hoses and pulled them with the backhoe, but I stopped when they started to...

JLG 450A Telescoping boom hose replacement

Hey all, Still no luck with this. The manuals I downloaded don't really cover it from what I have seen. Can anyone help?

JLG 450A Telescoping boom hose replacement

Gents, Long story short: My tenant was in the process of replacing the hoses on the telescoping boom of his 450A when he suddenly passed away last November. I finally had the chance to try and finish the job so I can use the lift and ready it so his wife can sell it, and I'm having a heck of a...

    John Deere 490D Not Swinging

Greetings, I'm trying to diagnose why our old 490D quit swinging. It get very little use anymore, and had been ok up until a week or so ago when I went to move some dirt in the yard and do a little grading. It hadn't been used since a septic in March. Symptons: Initially started swinging...
