    New to me MC crawler

Hello all, Norbert here, just bought this beast at an auction. They said it needs a starter. They were not kidding, spent the day taking apart, trying a fix, reinstall, not working, redo... Needs a Bendix spring but got it sorted out, the threads on the end of the little nut are stripped and had...

Any directional or vertical drillers here?

I'm looking at an older ditch with unit to do some core drilling. Can a directional drill be set up for core removal? Are the drill speeds fast enough for core, or are there slow speed core drill bits?

    are tracks fairly universal?

I'm looking for a new-to-me excavator, and see some that need tracks and chains, which I don't mind if the price is good, nothing ticks me off more than seeing new inferior parts on a machine. this way I can buy a good set and not worry. Are chains for steel pads fairly universal? from the...

    Help, my excavator is sinking

I pulled about 2.5 gallons of water from the fuel tank and about 2 quarts of water from the engine with the little dipstick oil change tool. A wide track at d6 came in to pull it out. I rode on that d6, that monster doesn't stop for anything. That is the undercarriage i want on my next...

    Help, my excavator is sinking

Sadly one track is weak. I doubt it will get the log into the ground. Maybe when it is cold. How do you chain a log to the tracks? Any pics? I have a 4 wheeler with a 2500 pound winch that , it might be enough if I can enough snatch blocks and somebody to give me a hand. Would be nice to get a...

    Help, my excavator is sinking

No good trees in the area. If the back wasn't in clay it would have came out from me bucketing forward, I think the sticky stuff got a grip on it.

Grey Market Komatsu PC20 weak then no travel

This is just a guess im suspecting with older macbines, How old is the oil? If the original oil spec is similar to a 5w30 and it breaks down after time it's essentially like a 5 when warm. Maybe too thin to properly pressurise, warm oil might thin enough to leak by the pump or motor

    Help, my excavator is sinking

I was doing a bit of work out in the woods, making a trail, hit some clay and she went down nose first. Tried to recover but no luck. Early 80s Deere 693B right hand cab. 40,000 pounds. Had a guy come out and give me a quote on bringing his machine out but he has gone AWOL Last I saw she was on...

    hough 50 transmission slipping

Finally got to checking transmission pressure. In any setting the gauge shows 140 at idle, then climbs to 180 when I give it gas. At full throttle it climbs to 220. Seems to he the torque converter, the shaft to the transmission not spinning even at full throttle. Is there a separate pressure...

    Hough wheel loader

Hi, in post 19 it said the transmission is a shuttle type 3 speed. Does that mean shift on the fly?

    hough 50 transmission slipping

Mine is a 53, I'm only changing file lines to the first pumpi have a suction issue. The line is steel reinforced like a hydraulic hose from the tank to the first filter too, probably because of the length of the run. What does the transmission pressure regulator look me and where would I find...

    hough 50 transmission slipping

Just an update, mates, some goofball removed the in-line filter off the transmission. This poor b*****d thing has been running without a filter and just the mesh strainer in the tranny sump. I flushed the tranny and installed new fluid. It got contaminated right away. Was so bad the new fluid...

    hough 50 transmission slipping

Update, I wrapped the questionable one with cerawrap and electrical tape to help eliminate suction problem. No better off. I loosened the charge pump, while running some oil came out, but I don't think enough. I took the charge pump out, it works alright by hand and splines are alright, I'll...

    hough 50 transmission slipping

Changed the oil. The bottom was so full of metal I almost had a stroke. 6 gallons of new oil and no better. Found the connection to the primer pump was loose. Didn't try it yet. There is a drain plug where the torque converter is, and what looks like an oil level hole, is there supposed to be...

    hough 50 transmission slipping

The line is leaking at the compressor so it will never build pressure. So many air hoses on transmission, I don't know if it can run without pressure. Will be fixed shortly though.
