Deere 700 vs Cat D6K input

We currently have 3 Deere dozers and are looking to trade up our 650H. Thinking about going to a 700 size machine. Looking for input from anybody that has seat time in a Cat D6K and how they compare to Deere 700? Thanks

    Gray market Deere dozers

Question. Does any of the Deere guys know if a newer J series dozer that was built for gray market is able to get parts and stuff here domestically? It would seem similar machine with just less emissions controls. Thanks

    CAT D8H Hydraulic GPM question

So I was doing some looking. I was wrong. We bought the machine on auction and I would say somebody added the hydraulic tank and remote valves. I will attach some pictures. The part number on the tag of the hydraulic pump is 3P4002. Anybody know the GPM of that specific pump number?

    CAT D8H Hydraulic GPM question

Folks I have a D8H serial number 46A18325. I am mounting a Werk Brau tile plow on the machine. I need to know if the machine is open or closed center and what the GPM is of the hydraulics to get the correct control valve for GPS grade control on the drainage plow. Any suggestions on where to...

Dozer pulled Drainage Tile Plow suggestions

Between my uncle and myself we farm about 5-600 acres. Biggest tractor between us is a Deere 8320. Cannot justify a bigger high $ farm tractor. Also cannot justify spending 3-600k on a Wolfe or Bron plow starting out. Looking for a step into the market for a lesser investment. I would be willing...

Dozer pulled Drainage Tile Plow suggestions

Shimmy1. Thanks. I know in a straight pull the 8K is way more tractor. I guess I was wondering if I am pulling around a curve will I be disappointed with the 8K. I agree that an 8N would be ideal but I am not sure I can afford that option right now. I was looking at a Deere 850 which most of our...

Dozer pulled Drainage Tile Plow suggestions

My father is in the excavating business. I work with him and I farm a little too. I am interested in expanding into being a drainage contractor. I have talked to many different guys in the business and have gotten different perspectives. Am looking for some info/advice on a dozer to pull a plow...

    Why track loaders?

Old thread here I know. We did a job this summer where I thought almost every thank God we had our 963 there. We dug a 70 X 200 X 10' Hog Building. Our 963 was the first machine on the job and last to leave. Stripped topsoil with it. Stockpiled clay with it and support Excavator while digging...

    Cat 963 hydraulic issue

Not sure that the machine ran for a minute could be less. But after running the boom up and down with the new line and oil in it for like 10+ minutes it now runs and works fine. Pulled hydraulic filters to check for metal fines or collapsed filter. After put filters back in and ran it up and...

    Cat 963 hydraulic issue

Today we blew the main hydraulic line that goes from hydraulic tank to the pump. Machine is a 963A 21Z serial number. The machine from the time it blew the line and unloaded the oil was shut off within a minute or so when operator noticed oil pouring out. After we fixed the line (which is a PITA...

    Adding 3rd valve to 963

We have a 1994 21Z 963 we bought a few months ago. The machine is really clean and low hours. We have a 2nd 963 and they both have GP buckets. We do a fair amount of farm demolition work and tree stuff. Considering adding a 3rd valve to it and a 4N1 if we could find one. Any idea what it would...

Equipment Brand reliability/longevity real world comparison

Yea, we don't have Peterbilt trucks either so I guess we are really fools :) Nothing we own is Tier 4 yet. Kind of scared to update anything because of the Tier 4 BS. Thanks or the replies guys.

Equipment Brand reliability/longevity real world comparison

Good points. Some of our experience differs from yours. We have 2 Case 450CT loaders and have had great luck with them and our 450 wheel machine. They have quite a few hours and have been good machines. We have also had pretty good luck with parts on our Deere and Hitachi excavators honestly. We...

Equipment Brand reliability/longevity real world comparison

Catsparky. Thanks for the reply. I think the dealer thing is relative to your area. West Side Tractor is the Deere dealer in our part of the world. They have taken good care of us as far as parts and service are concerned. Same with our service at our Case skid steer dealer Burris Eq. Dad had...

Equipment Brand reliability/longevity real world comparison

Check in our experience there is definitely truth that it is easy to get parts for older cat stuff. As far as parts on our other stuff we have had pretty good luck. I do feel like resale on older Caterpillar items is good. Go to a RB auction. A D6D dozer will bring more money than a Deere 850C...
