    The H50's and H 60's that I have worked on were rigid frame with IH 6 cyl. inline gassers, I believe most of the smaller houghs used the IH gas and diesel engines, some were the same ones used in farm tractors.

    I overhauled the engine from a H65 hough a few years ago, if memory serves me right that one had an inline 6 IH 407 cubic inch turbo diesel in it. It was a great loader, the operator loved it.

    the problem sounds like aeration or cavitation, another thing to check is the suction tube inside the reservoir, I had one that cracked and broke due to vibration on a cat 988 wheel loader, it caused the hydraulics to be intermittently jerky depending on how high the boom was raised. another...
