    Question, M series in OZ

I was told a few days ago that M series graders or any machine with only joystick steering can't be registered for road use and have to be transported to job sites in Ausrtalia or maybe just some states and thats why some contractors prefer JD graders. Can anyone elaborate on this or is it just...

    Tyre pressure gauges

I have 3 or 4 tyre pressure gauges, 2 have a face with a needle and the other 2 are the pocket clip type, don't know what the proper names are. I would guess that most people would have a few. The problem is they all read a bit different. With the tractor and farm stuff it doesn't bother me...

    musical excavator!!!!

As we all know just about everything that moves these days has an alarm on it, either a flashing light or an audible alarm. On this excavator stairs the alarm used to be a loud beep beep, like a reversing alarm. Then someone worked out that it could be changed to give different sounds. Follow...

    Wood chip dozers

Just got back from a cruise down the east coast of New Zealand. Every port that we stopped at (6) there were lots of timber/logs and a couple of piles of wood chip. The blades on the dozers at the wood chip piles caught my eye. Never thought I'd be taking photos of dozers while on a cruise.

    Big Tracks

I was going to post these in the digging over drive motors thread when the subject of chains and pins and bushes came up and never did quiet get around to it. I thought that some of you may have never seen the tracks on a large excavator, they(maybe not all) don't have track chains and grouser...

This was in yesterdays paper, thought I'd pass it on. Wonder if they were all Caterpillar? Moreton Island is just off the southern coast of Queensland, Australia.

    Old grader

I've been driving past this machine for a few years now and I often thought that the back wheel could have been straightened up (pic 1) before it was put on display. Anyway today I stopped to take some photos I saw that it had wheel lean on the rear wheels worked through a worm drive. Plus side...

    Heavy Metal

Saw these on the way home from work this morning. The plastic wrapped bit looks like the boom mount and lift ram mounts points.
