    80 Class Excavator Comparison

Bringing this one back to the top with some comments on out Takeuchi TB290. We have had the machine for just over a year. So far we love the machine. Great power, crazy fast, and we'll balanced. The only con that we have is that the top window on the cab is useless which makes it hard to see...

    Demolition debris cleanup

Not sure what you mean by grading / plaining bar. You have a picture? I have a skidsteer mount adapter for the Takeuchi so if I could find a giant rake setup I could use that to rake the site clean.

    Demolition debris cleanup

Everything is post and pier so the houses will be demoed onto the dirt. This is why I was thinking 6' or 7' skeleton bucket on a skid steer or our small excavator. Skim the top couple inches of dirt with the bucket quickly and the site is clean. The other structures are old barns, sheds, and...

    Demolition debris cleanup

I have a 953C, linkbelt 2700Q (34k lbs) and a Takeuchi TB290 that will all be on the job site. Since this job will be starting in November, I want to maximize the speed at which I can do each site. And being that I have to pay a laborer $60/hr to rake the ground, if I can get a new attachment...

    Demolition debris cleanup

What do you guys use for finish cleanup of demo debris. Historically we have used laborers and hand rakes but we are bidding a large job with 2 houses and 12 barns / out buildings and are trying to reduce labor costs since it is a prevailing wage job.

    JD 210LE 4x4 E-brake randomly turns on

For sometime now the parking brake will randomly turn on for a few seconds on our skip loader. It's getting really annoying so I'm looking for some advice on where to start looking.

    Ls2800q

Our issue wasn't air but it was just crap in the line between the tank and pre-filter that would move to the pre-filter and plug it. Turn the machine off and it would pull away from the filter enough for the fuel to flow for a bit, then it would choke the machine out like it was getting air...

    Ls2800q

We have a 2700q that had the same problem. After fighting the problem for years we just started replacing things. The first we did was completely replace the pre-filter bolted to the tank, filter housing, supply line and removed, drained and cleaned the tank. It fixed the the problem and the...

    Excavator bucket teeth

I have a 38k lb excavator with a 42" CWS bucket that needs new shanks. The teeth on the bucket are welded on because the keepers never worked well. I am looking for recommendations on tooth styles and sizes. We do everything from demo to tree stump removal.

How deep would you dig with a 200 hoe?

Just my opinion but, we have a 2700q linkbelt 43k lbs but something that size we would rent a big machine. The speed and efficiency of a 90k to 110k lb machine would be well worth the rent.

    Mower recommendations

We tried using our rotary mower from our skid steer on our excavator. It worked ok bur the finished product wasn't as clean as our customer wanted. We are mowing brush and small saplings up to about 2" with the occasional bush as big as 4". Wouldo a flail mower do a better job of mulching and...

takeuchi 180fr or 175 owners with coupler please help!

I would talk to TAG and have them make a custom bucket that curls up further and maybe since it's only for gravel they could increase the capacity a bit? Our 10 Wheeler has a HUGE box with 5' sides on it so we can't scoop out of it even if we wanted to.

Here are pictures of my machine. TAG coupler with high capacity tag buckets.

takeuchi 180fr or 175 owners with coupler please help!

We have never noticed an issue with our 290. I will try to take pictures this week. I know we did special order high capacity buckets which have been amazing.

    Skidsteer attachments on excavators

Honestly it was dead simple to build. We bought the skid steer mount off ebay and got a couple of extra wain roy tops with our machine. The steel supply company cut the 5/8" plate and 4 gussets for us. I just welded it together. If you want different angles let me know. The only thing I would...

    953C with a 6 way blade

A grader is on our list too. The problem is half of the road is between 20% and 40% slope so a grader is going to have a hard time.

    953C with a 6 way blade

The reason we are looking at the 6 way is we have to reshape 1 mile of road. Normally we would just do it with the 953 but the road is only 9'- 10' wide so there really isn't much room to do anything but go forward and backward.

Mowing / brush clearing with a 10 ton excavator

I have a client that wants me to mow the sides of a few overgrown ranch roads. These roads are very over grown with 1"-2" saplings, brush, poisen oak, and berry vines. I will be using a 60" rotary mower from my skidsteer mounted on my excavator. I am trying to get some kind of idea on how...
