    Need some troubleshooting help!!!

I never got back to my machine, hurricane Ike hit and I spent almost 8 months in the Galveston-East Texas area, the last few months have been too hot to try anything outside so it has been holding the weeds down. Now that it is getting a little cooler I might go back out and see if it will...

    School or Work?

I completely agree with this post. Pay special attention to this last paragraph. I came out of high school in 1960 with no real plan of any kind, additional education back then was important, but not as much as today, now it is almost imperative in any business, at any level. Continue...

    Need some troubleshooting help!!!

Thanks guys, The questions helped prod me into digging around until I found a manual I had forgotten about, in it there is a diagram of the oil flow for the trans, converter, and into the radiator, they show a filter screen in something that looks like a one way flow valve, also a vent on the...

    Need some troubleshooting help!!!

Some of you are full of wisdom about older equipment. I have a 85-3A Michigan wheel loader, and if memory serves right, a Clarke transmission. The problem has been ongoing for several years, (very low use machine) I'm sure a rebuild is in order, but the future use of the unit does not justify...

    Is steam too old???

Is Steam too old?? I think steam is one of our better options for cleaner energy to power transportation, the pressure vessels that can be made today with more advanced materials that do not deteriorate like steel, might be a little more expensive, but would last longer and be more dependable...

How old is your truck?Pics please!!

I have no idea, it was set up this way when I bought it in 1986. One of the few things that I have had to do over the years, was to switch out the air pods on the rear axle, the old ones where dual diaphragm units and had a price of about $700.00 ea (I still have them) so I used cheap singles...

How old is your truck?Pics please!!

This is the NH-220, the first pic shows the turbocharger. One thing I'm curious about, the service manual does not show a picture of an engine with starter on the driver side ?? Is this something special, or different ? I did not notice this until making these posts. Ron

How old is your truck?Pics please!!

If you mean the one in the truck, Ill take my camera out tomorrow. I'll try to get a picture of the page in the book, but they might not show very well. I'll work on that the next day or two. Ron

How old is your truck?Pics please!!

I fired it up yesterday, and while it was warming up I copied the numbers. The plate on the motor gives the following info HP gross net @ 2100 RPM......204 HP gross max@ 2100 RPM.....220 The engine number ended with a 7, and the truck spec plate showed the engine exactly the same but...

I found out years ago here in Texas (and I guess everywhere) even as an owner operator (one man operation) if you have a processing machine of any kind (I was using a link belt scalping screen) you belong to MISHA. From then on it was scoop and load only.:D Haven't seen them one...

    Legal or not?

As you may have noticed with the big grin and drinkup sign, it was taken in good humor. Being as I'm a card carrying ADD guy, I certainly understand that one of the many tale-tale signs is to let go of whats on ones mind and never realize how it sounds on the other side of the eyes.;). Two...

    Legal or not?

Best I understand the law, the driver of any rig is responsible to know that it is legal before operating it on public, state, or federal right of ways.:usa
