    Incompetent dealers

I had a dealer pull similar bs with a radiator core. The engine was overheating. They cleaned the core and said that I needed to wash the radiator core out with water and they would not cover it under warranty. We did that over and over....still the engine overheated. They came back for...

    Komatsu D155AX-6 Ripper Failure

I would never buy any equipment that was used in a landfill. Landfill equipment suffers from the environment and the fact mechanics don’t like to work on nasty, diseased ridden equipment, and I don’t blame them.

    Is the pond dry enough?

Before you do anything; Dig around the edge of the pond from dry ground. Dig down to dry stable soil. Rest your machine on the dry stable soil and reach in toward the center of the pond as you work around the pond again.

Can you thread a needle using a loader? Is it fake?

The operator must have perfect vision to be able to thread a needle form the operators seat. In my opinion, it is fake.

warning be careful with gps right now

Always measure what you move in bank yards, not by the capacity of the truck. You're just setting yourself up for disappointment, if you do. LOL

    d6t steering noise fault

Do you have any loss of power? It is loud, but that doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with the machine, in my opinion. What hydraulic oil is in the machine now? If the machine came from a cold weather climate, the oil may be to light for Australia and the source of the noise.

Drain Tile in a calving lot

I have never put in drain tile, but I have installed many French drains under streets and even under landfills. It all depends on how porous the soil, and if you have somewhere to drain the water. If you have to pump it; it will get expensive.

    Cat vs. Kobelco

We have plenty of Cat equipment as well as John Deere, and they hold up fine. The Cat dealer thinks their parts and service are gold and John Deere cant keep a tech, but other than that they are good dealers. Kobelco is something that is not sold in large numbers West of I-35.

    Cat vs. Kobelco

After looking real hard at the Kobelco we opted for the Cat. The Kobelco was just plain worn out. from the undercarriage all the way to the broken glass in the cab. It was just going to require more money than we wanted to spend to get it into decent shape. I thank you all for your...

    Cat vs. Kobelco

Thank you all for the responses. My shop supervisor, the operator and I intend to go look at the Kobelco as soon as it arrives at the retailer. We are going to use this machine to demo substandard houses. Currently we do about 40-50 a year with a rental machine. With this machine we hope to...

    Cat vs. Kobelco

I have a choice between a 2004 cat 312CL 7,100 hours and a 2005 Kobelco sk115 6,600 hours. Both are in good shape but I know nothing about Kobelco. I do know that I see many Kobelco excavators on construction sites along the I-35 corridor and down around Houston. What are your thoughts?

    Trackhoe operation Do's and Dont's

Always dig over the front of the tracks, even if you are grubbing stumps or small trees. I tell my guys to never swing the boom outside of the outside edge of the front tracks, when grubbing. It accelerates wear on the undercarriage and digging over the front gives you the most leverage.

    Lakefront property

Lake Brownwood in Central Texas is a great lake. The lake is not clear like the lakes in Canada, but it is not muddy. Most of the time it is a blue/green color shown in the picture. I have lived in Brownwood area for most of my life and it is a great place to live, work and play.
