    Ls185.b crank no start

Our skid did the same thing this winter. If the engine just dies like to you shut of the switch, could likely be it is the fancy computer module they put in it......... have your board pulled and tested. I think a new one is around 600. Moisture is not kind to the electronics on the newer...

High cattle prices here to stay?

Update: Sold that lot of bull calves this week averaged $420 per head average for calves two to three weeks old............just sayin. I guess you guys can take that info for what it's worth. Seems the market just got a little bit stronger for baby bull calves.......

    military dozer difference

Sometimes it's easy to be tempted by the bid price. thinking I'm better off for passing up that unit. maybe if it was a little closer, .........say down in IA or something I'd be more interested, but as it was said earlier the ones in IA are tending to sell high. I'm thinking the 7's were...

    military dozer difference

That's one thing I was worried about too.......Sea air, rusted connections etc. ...............Agreed, rifle holder would be nice I think too! The EPA has been raising cane about all the old engines not meeting specs. on emissions so I think there is a lot of machines that were getting...

High cattle prices here to stay?

So far I haven't seen much discussion about this..... but one thing that is not mentioned is that in China (if I have my facts straight) they have loosened their stance on one child families. I know in the Dairy industry some are gearing up for huge amts of milk to be dried and turned into...

High cattle prices here to stay?

Not really a subsidy here........but I know some ranchers are using Livestock gross margin insurance to help manage the risks. Same sort of thing they got now on the fed level for dairy.......(Milk margin protection program)

    military dozer difference

I'm not trying to advertise for another site here but you could look to steel soldiers.com for some of the info you need, Also some of the equipment (not all) needs an end user certificate with the Gov. especially if you are buying it directly from a gov. DRMO website. when looking at the...

    track repair on 953

Since I started this thread I did go through with a track replacement and haven't looked back since. pretty easy swap too! Well at least it was for me anyway cuzz the track adjusters worked as they should have. Just laid out the new tracks and rails in front of the machine and unbolted the...

    Making skidsteer implements

LOL and I thought I was the only one still using a stick welder.. can honestly say I've never had a cutting edge break off on me even using the old standby 6011 welding cutting edge to mild steel bucket. Of coarse the material I used was a bit heavier than normal, but it worked well...

    Making skidsteer implements

Dinger49, I know what you are saying with the warping and distortion, welding in close succession is more the cause than anything. IE working from one end to the other. Break it up a bit......... Weld on the end, skip to the middle........ weld on far end etc. should help a lot...

    Making skidsteer implements

I've built several attachments for my skid loaders, and agree with JD, 5/16's is a minimum on the back plates. As for putting new edge on your bucket, most good welding shops supply cutting edge that you can buy exactly to the length you need and either bolt it on or weld it. It's expensive per...

    Idiots...

Probably just bought the machine and were just unloading it for the first time..........first time driving it+relatively dangerous situation+under sized trailer= disaster in my opininon.

    Learning to weld

You will for sure look at the way things are built a bit differently if you take a few classes in Welding. Try to become certified if you can, that welding skill will serve you in more ways than one. If possible some night machining classes as well or engine courses.

    Name For Small Business

Randy: I thought the same thing reading through this thread..... It's funny you should mention catchy names......I recently started working with a trucker from Oronoco, MN and his trucking co was called Double HP trucking. When one thinks about it Double HP kind of sounds like...... get...

    hosed on a 7140......bad

you should be protectd by Ebay's buyer protection policy if things are not as was described, (at least that is the way I understand how that works) Maybe someone here will set me straight, but I think the way that works is that anything that is purchased for over a certain amount automaticly...

Chain adjustment on a NH LS170

Are you also figuring your cost/hr. to reflect your depreciation, ins, and interest on the loan as well? (strictly speaking only of the machine cost/hr. here, not other business related expenses)

How hard to run the equipment

makes a difference whose pocket the money comes out of for repairs that's for sure!

Chain adjustment on a NH LS170

I've got an LS 170 2008 model, might be a little different, but I've never had to adjust the chains ..........ever. My skid Loader is already got over 2500 hrs. on it and been through the first cutting edge on the bucket already. However it is not uncommon for NH loaders to go a good 8,000 to...
