I'd like to think there's a special place in he** for spammers, but they probably aren't welcome there either :laugh

    Truck suspensions

I talked to a couple of folks yesterday (one driver and their truck mechanic) and they echo much of what's been said here. Considering much of the time I'm on pavement or good gravel, the smoother suspension sounds pretty good to me. My off road work is really limited to small new home sites...

    Truck suspensions

What are the pros and cons to air suspensions on dumptrucks? I've been looking off and on for awhile now and found a 1994 Kenworth W900 that looks to be in good shape and in the price range I can afford. The only downside if there is one would be the air suspension. I'd really like to...

Tips for new debris removal service?

Since you've had shoulder surgery you don't want to cause problems, so "work smarter, not harder". Get the truck as close to your work as possible and try to eliminate carrying stuff with your hands. I'd make sure you have a wheelbarrow or lawn cart along with a hand truck and dolly so you...

    Clearing trees/ tub grinder?

I'd give your local vermeer or morbark dealer a call and see if they know of a company that rents out tub grinders. They should know someone you can rent from. I wish we had a smaller one like the Morbark 950 for rent around here. It'd allow me to work year round and not have to deal with...

    $17,000.00 Trucking Fine

I've looked into putting scales on my dump truck and it was around $5,000 if I recall correctly. I mostly use my truck for moving my excavator and hauling from a pit, so I couldn't justify the cost of installing the system. Sometimes though, I think the peace of mind might be worth it every...

    Shortening truck frame

I can't imagine shortening the frame would be that difficult or time consuming. Check out the link for ford truck information that might be useful when modifying their trucks. https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/topics/bodybuild.html

    1987 Dump Truck

I took my class A test in a dump truck/tag trailer and I'm not aware of any restrictions on driving tractor trailers. I wonder if this varies between states?

    New vs. Used

I'd also ask this same question of your CPA or accountant. Tax advantages aren't always obvious, but they definitely should be weighed in your decision when spending the kind of money you're looking at.

    Equipment Expo?

There isn't much offered on the west coast from what I've found. The only thing I've found is the Oregon Loggers Conference, but it's geared obviously towards logging equipment. You can also check the company websites and some of them list shows they'll be participating in and this might give...

    septic tanks

Cascade - Call your county health department and ask them if you need a license to install septic systems in your county. I know all the counties around me require installers to have a installers license. Our county and a couple of adjacent counties actually require a lengthy test and you must...

    septic tanks

I talked to the designer today and it turns out the tank style we're using can be out a full inch end to end. Even with this much room for error, I think I'll over dig from now on and add a couple inches of sand. It'd be less than a yard of sand and it would be a lot easier to level and get er...

    septic tanks

I like the idea of over digging a couple of inches and using sand to bring it back up to grade. They actually recommend using three inches of sand if you have rock in the bottom of the hole to protect the tank. It sounds like some of you are still able to use the single chamber septic tanks...

    septic tanks

What do those of you that install septic tanks consider flat or level? I somehow missed on a septic tank and pump chamber and set them half an inch low on the outlet side. I've never had one this far off and it really bugs the heck out of me because I always hand dig the bottom to get it...

Questions regarding starting a dump truck business?

I just got a bill from the rock pit and they did some hauling for me this month. They billed me $110/hr for truck and trailer which is probably the going rate around here right now.

Questions regarding starting a dump truck business?

Unfortunately, there's too many dump truck owners out there that will work for peanuts and ultimately drive the price down for everyone. I think a lot of these same owners don't understand business and what it takes to operate a successful business. I know the successful trucking companies are...

    Cat 3126 Jake brake

I've got an exhaust brake on my 8.3 cummins and I've had a few problems with it, but I wouldn't give it up. If the engine rpm is up, I find it's pretty affective at holding my ground speed when going down a lot of hills around here.

Nice looking truck! You'll have to post some more about it after you've had time to put a few miles on it.

Check out the awesome videos on this site

I drive by their shop almost every day. When I bought my mini-x, I looked into having them build one of their small units for my machine. They aren't cheap attachments, so you better have plenty of work for it if you buy one.
