    Bobcat 435 swinging problems

After changing all the filters, case drains and replacing the fluid it total refused to lift the boom or perform any thing that took power. The was a post that I reviewed over the weekend that...

    how are duetz motors?

I have two ,oil cooled 1011's and they are great engines. My heater works just fine but a leak can be messy. The belt can be changed fairly easily..I like the fact that I don't have to worry about checking the coolant. A pan heater does fine and our temps are below zero farenheit at night most...

    VTS tracks

I just got a set for my Gehl and have only used them for about ten hrs. I like them . The power loss is noticeable but increased torque, stability and traction in mud is well worth it. They don't ride that bad either. The ability to swap between the two machines in case of a break down and the...

    Help with a Bobcat 430...

I'm glad you found the problem, I have a 435 and I like the fast track. Low range is still faster than compariable machines in high range. High range is weak but finessing the controls (backing off full stick ) does make a difference. In low range you have to actually back off the sticks so...

trail building, how many miles per day

I'm suprised that you aren't given more specs. Private land,or goverment? I've done a lot of trails around Anchorage on private land and its one of the funnest jobs to have pioneering a trail. Creeks to cross can make it complicated with all the erosion control you have to do.Hope it works out...

    Bobcat E50

Glad you like your E50,and have been watching the videos. I have a 435 and I've been really happy with it. Lots of power and ability to lift. I will try one out to see if the hydraulics are tweaked much different, the spec sheets show higher breakout forces but I'll need to run one to compare...

    Oil cooled Duetz/Gehl 4835

There are two ports in the block that you install the lines into. They are near the flywheel on the left hand side behind the cooling lines. there is a ball valve installed on one line to shut off flow if needed.

Feds Demand 29 mpg Pickup Truck

As far as diesels in light pickups in the US, I think it will happen if they cure the particulate problem. Or change the rules. I hate the the regen in my 2008 3500, but I bought it despite the bad milage. The price I ended up paying for the basic truck that was offered was $28,000. But I have...

Feds Demand 29 mpg Pickup Truck

This has been an such a good thread, I have to give everyone kudos who put there 2 cents in. The bottom line is how we wean ourselves of the tremendous thirst for oil that Americans have. I do feel our consumption is excessive and I have a hard time believing that market forces that are...

Skagit Iron and Steel Works, Sedro Wooley, Washington

Man does this bring back memories. This is what my dad had in the late sixties. The sj4 (one of two that he owned) was traded off for a Lorain grapple loader soon after this pic was taken. He was kind of proud of the little yarder mounted on the tracked carrier. I believe it was cummin's powered...

Logging Equipment- Dead at Mt. St. Helens!

I was working for Weyerhauser in oregon at the time and remember it well. We sent lots of equiptment north to be sacrificed. Alot of my dad's family lived around Castle Rock, Washington and my dad saying that there be no more smoked salmon from Uncle Hank. Bummer what the ash did to the rivers.

    Mel-Trac T660

The one I saw had mechanical drive, no chains each wheel had a differential connected by a jack shaft. Probably expensive but the owner had nothing but praise for it. It is quite a bit heavier at about five tons. The videos are great to see, Thanks Trihonu. The modified skid is cool in the...
