jlgskytrack 5028 , please help .Need to find a way to reroute fork tilt lines. original desing is so bad.

Okay. All the pivot points may be worn in the track and it's allowing it to twist sideways and get into the cylinfer and get damaged. Are all the bolts in the track? How about the hoses? Are they supposed to br the plastic siamese hose or what? If they've been replaced with single lines they can...

jlgskytrack 5028 , please help .Need to find a way to reroute fork tilt lines. original desing is so bad.

Is the track worn and floppy with sharp edges? Plastic or metal track? And is it supposed to be a Siamese hose in the boom.or two single lines? Check hose length also. Too long can cause issues.

Switched the lines? You said you were going to get plugs for the lines and test each cylinder seperately. Did you put caps on the cylinder fittings AND plug the lines to the cylinder that tore the head off?

    Lull 644B-42 Low steering pressure

It would steer if it's jacked up. No weight to fight. Seriously doubt there's a priority valve issue. The front steer would probably be weak too.

    Komatsu WB140-2N transmission problem

No but I figured it out myself. I took the valve body off and pulled the spools. One had a little piece of metal in it and wasn't letting the spool go quite far enough to close and build pressure. I removed the piece of metal, put it back together and it started working fine.

    Lull 644B-42 Low steering pressure

If front steer works fine then check to see if you have a blown piston seal on one of the rear cylinders. If it's working good on front steer only then your problem is most likely back there. Nothing wrong with the steering system itself

    Tranny issues

Not familiar with Ingersol but do you know what transmission is in it? Do all gears quit when it gets warm or just select gears like forward low?

12 or 24 volt system on Lull 644

It may have had a big 4D battery and they put 2 smaller batteries in it. The starter may be dragging as well. Also, Be sure to check for corroded battery cables. They'll be corroded up inside the cable and it won't crank well. That can take the starter out. A lot of these old engines are tired...

Raising the boom up and down and tilting the forks will get the air out. Both bottom ports need to be together, and naturally the top ports as well. If they aren't like that you are simply transferring fluid from the bottom of one cylinder to the top of the other. There's no oil being forced out...

Are you sure that both were crossed? You didn't accidentally cross them the other way? It's easy enough to overlook. If you have no automatic leveling at all there's still a crossed line or the slave cylinder piston seals are completely blown. You can get some #8 JIC plugs and plug the lines...

Rear axle oscillating cylinder is locked

Theres a standard 5 prong relay for both the 20° and 40° proximity switches. The 20° relay gets power on terminal 85 FROM the 20° proximity switch. Check to see if there's power there, and see if there's power on terminal 30. I'd just put a new relay in and see if it starts working. If not...

Rear axle oscillating cylinder is locked

Have you checked the boom proximity switch? And have you checked to see if power is going to the switch? If the switch goes bad it will lock the axle.

    Another high school chum deceased:

We're the same age. My dad, who'll be 83 next month tells me all the time that "The weeks fly by like days. It's Monday morning, you blink your eyes and it's Friday evening". It seems to be the truth- Christmas seems like 2 weeks ago and now it's almost March. I see my dad slowing down and not as...

Do you hear any hissing noise from the control valve or rhe manifold under the seat? Any noise that wasn't there before the loud pop you say you heard? Is there a carraige fork tilt test port in the test ports behind the step to get in the cab?And do you have any pressure testing guages? Sent PM

I hadn't thought of that. It may help pull it to one spot but once it gets a certain amount of buildup it won't catch any more rust. And then how do you get the rust out? I would think a magnet in a mesh bag with a string or wire you could remove and clean would be a better option. That way you...

The only access to the inside of the tank is at the fill point. You may get something in there but you need to be able to remove it for cleaning. It has a lift pump for sure on the side of the engine- that's where the fuel line hooks to. No telling how much rust is in the tank so I'd certainly...
