    Hydraulic cylinder for thumb?

CaptainE, I bought my old hoe a bunch of years ago minus the two stabilizer cylinders. I went through the efforts you have described before finally simply buying and modifying a couple of new log splitter cylinders from Princess Auto. (Canada) They were dirt cheap and have been 100% reliable...

Welder Dave!! You still out there?? I was thinking of you the other day!! I could feel your consternation while I was testing the strength of that weld!!!!

    Yanmar 4TNV88 rebuild

I see, Thanks Tyler. So the Amazon $575.00 "unbranded" kit might not be the way to go?..... And would I just deglaze the ole sleeves in place and put in new pistons and rings?

    Yanmar 4TNV88 rebuild

Hey all! My Yanmar 4TNV88 needs rebuilding at 10,300 hours. I have never rebuilt a diesel engine but have done a few gassers successfully a few decades ago. Rebuild kits on Amazon are dirt cheap so I am tempted to dig into it. How difficult is sleeve replacement on this engine? Anyone familiar...

Learning "GREY MARKET" the hard way.

Your are right about that my friend!! Three weeks ago I was able to get back to the farm for the spring "start up" of the equipment. The Hitachi? Nope, the Komatsu? Nope. The KUBOTA? NOPE!! THE JOHN DEERE LAWN TRACTOR?? NOPE!!!!! THE PETTIBONE??? YOU BET YOUR ASS!!!!! That nearly 50 year old...

    Question about wills?

This is my family's strategy exactly. Give it away while you are still here to provide the supreme interpretation of your wishes. This way the legacy left behind is NOT one of bitterness and conflict and you can bear witness to the benefits of your gifts.

Learning "GREY MARKET" the hard way.

I was going to dabble in it but covid also changed things at work so the free time I had for such endeavors has disappeared as well. So Skata, agreed, there are many and much easier ways to make money, as I have LEARNED!!! But....... I am keeping my eye on it. Ironplanet.... isnt that also...

Learning "GREY MARKET" the hard way.

Thats a pretty good analogy actually! The truth is though, after wasting countless hours at RB auctions looking for something 1/2 decent to buy, and watching rabid crowds paying twice what the junk was worth (in my opinion) it became clear to me that there is a supply problem here in Canada...

I agree with you. But I am tempted by the thought of an agent who is insured. But again, thats still all hassles and no sales.

Learning "GREY MARKET" the hard way.

I would NEVER buy a Chinese made machine. Japanese machines that have been to China can be a bargain with the right supplier and the right controls in place though. (Such as an agent on the ground there) The scale of these dealers in Shanghai is mind boggling. I asked one guy if he had any...

    Repair or replace cracked boom???

Pre heat has never been easier with the price of infrared thermometers at $50. Pre Heating the surrounding steel to slow the cooling of the weld immediately after laying the bead is the cheapest insurance you can buy against cracking. Throw some insulation over it when your done to further slow...

If anyone knows of such an agency I would love to hear about it. I know there's a buck or two here if its done right. as intaxco says though, and as I have learned, not nearly as much as one might think.
