Draining 6+ gallons of oil from grader engine

Hi all- I searched and couldn't find much info on this! I have a Cat 12E grader with D333 engine (6 gallon oil capacity). I'm wondering what you all are doing for draining oil- a 6 gallon drain pan seems kind of big :) Anyone pumping the oil out and into a 55 gallon drum? Other...

Pulling wheels/hubs on Cat 12E Grader (brake job)

Hi all. I have a 1964 Cat 12E road grader, and just adjusted the brakes for the first time this morning. Got the pedal back, and things are working. I did notice that I seem to be out of adjustment on one of the wheels. So I'm "pro-actively" researching brake hub (wheel hub) removal for when...

Case 590SM Series II Gallons per hour

Thanks guys- I'll start by trying to calculate what I'm using currently. Hard to be exact, I don't have a way to capture gallons coming out of my transfer tank :). Going off the fuel gauge and hour meter.

Case 590SM Series II Gallons per hour

Hi everyone- I searched and found some info on what you all are getting for gallons/hour, but didn't see anything about the 590SM- I got one recently and am wondering what you all are seeing for gallons/hour with this class machine (19,500lb, fully equipped).

Skip loader instead of compact tractor?

Hi guys- I'm in the market for a tractor for a variety of things- box scraper, auger, mower, etc. I've been looking at compact 4x4 utility tractors in the 30-50hp range and am SHOCKED at how expensive they are used in my area. I tend to like bigger/heavier/industrial anyways. And that leads me...

    Pictures of your Backhoe!!!!!

Lots of utilities put in recently with the case 580k 4x4 extendahoe- electrical conduit, sewer line, water line, all at the new shop. The $350 I paid for two buckets (12” trencher and 42” muck bucket) have paid off many times over

Case 580K hydraulic cooler and supply lines, help needed

Thanks- I just can't figure out why I have fat hoses going to a cooler that looks nothing like the parts I see listed online for a hydraulic oil cooler! :)

Case 580K hydraulic cooler and supply lines, help needed

Here's a pic of the hydraulic line going to the front-most cooler element (fitting is over 1" on the OD). Behind the fitting, you can see the 2nd cooler element (middle) - still wondering what each element is for!

Case 580K hydraulic cooler and supply lines, help needed

I had that thought too- what's really a mystery is that it doesn't go back to the tank, but goes to the front-most cooler. Same basic filter housing, same output port - different hose and destination...

Case 580K hydraulic cooler and supply lines, help needed

My machine: 1987 Case 580K Phase I (shifter goes through floor) So I have a leak coming from one of the fat hoses that goes to one of the coolers ahead of the radiator- it's clean hydraulic fluid that's leaking. I'm trying to understand the hydraulic circuits and supply/return line "system"...

is this a decent deal? case backhoe

If it’s like my 580K, the exhaust pipe is attached to the hood, closes down on the muffler when you shut the hood :)

    Cold weather struggles (Deere 310A)

Do you have a way to heat the batteries? Also, I wouldn’t be without a proper block heater, my Case 580K didn’t have one when I got it, put one in before my first winter with it. Only need to plug in for 45min and she starts right up.

Case 580K 4x4: Snow pusher for mountain property?

Thanks guys. I agree that a power angle blade would be great, but don't want to go to that time or expense. Seems like a pusher box is a good/simple/affordable compromise, especially when you consider how easy they are to attach/remove. I'm just wondering if anyone uses these on roads and hilly...
