    Small Stick Welder

If your looking at a Miller Thunderbolt, you may want to checkout the Hobart Stickmate line. Same exact machines with gray paint instead of blue. The Hobart version will naturally be less costly.

Washing out hydraulic pump area on a New Holland L220

Im working on a 2011 New Holland L220 skid-steer. I replaced a hydraulic hose that had been leaking for some time. As a result, the entire “belly” of the machine is caked with oil soaked sludge. What’s the best way to get as much of this junk out of the machine? I feel pressure washing isn’t...

Best winter boots for a mobile mechanic.

Being from Wisconsin, this sparked my curiosity. What’s the best for the bitter cold elements? Steel toe boot with an overshoe? Insulated sorel? Hunting boot?

Best winter boots for a mobile mechanic.

I have the Red Wings you’re talking about. They’re great boots in a dry scenario, but with slush or snow, you’ve got wet feet.

Best winter boots for a mobile mechanic.

So what is the best winter boot for a heavy equipment mechanic who is on the road? What do you wear for the cold, snow, slush, water, ice, etc.??

Truck/Equipment mechanic not sure what to do?

Your story sure sounds similar to mine. When I started my current job, I thought wow I’m surely going to retire from here someday. Kinda surprises me now that I may consider it just another stepping stone.

Truck/Equipment mechanic not sure what to do?

Another great viewpoint, and January 1st I get another weeks worth of vacation. That also complicates the decision making process.

Truck/Equipment mechanic not sure what to do?

Wow, really good write-up! You made a lot of great points. The thing is I do like my job and what I do. If I stay where I am, I’m not the type of person to just fall into the “typical” habits of many government workers. You know, the ones who basically show up and do just enough to collect...

Truck/Equipment mechanic not sure what to do?

I am 31 years old, and currently employed as a mechanic for a municipality. Been there 7 years now. Tried advancing in both pay and title ever since I’ve started but just doesn’t seem to happen. My skill set is diverse, my attention to detail is applauded by my peers, and my work ethic is...

    Diesel fuel locator app?

Yes, for automotive Diesel. If there was an app that showed stations handling off-road Fuel, that would be a welcomed bonus as well.

    Diesel fuel locator app?

Not sure if anything like this exists, but I’m wondering if anyone knows of an app for your phone that will locate diesel fuel locations near you? Would be nice to be able to see on and off road locations.

    Deere or Case 350 dozer?

Thanks for the info. They’re asking $8,500 o.b.o. Are there any bolts in particular to inspect that break. It must be a common problem for these models because it did say in the ad that there are no broken bolts.

    Deere or Case 350 dozer?

Found this one on C-list. 5,200 hours. Says it’s in really good shape. It’s a gasser tho. What do y’all think?

    Deere or Case 350 dozer?

    Maybe around $10k.

    Deere or Case 350 dozer?

I’m afraid that a Cat D3 is going to be more expensive than I’d be willing to spend. Not sure if a skid-steer would be good for cutting trails thru the woods.

    Deere or Case 350 dozer?

Dealers for Case and Deere Industrial is about 30 mins. away. We have an independent heavy equipment service/Parts outfit about 10 min. away.

    Deere or Case 350 dozer?

I think I’m going to start looking for either a Deere or Case 350 dozer. Main use will be cutting ATV trails around my property and some driveway shaping, as well as other minor projects. Is one brand preferable over the other? What can I expect to pay for a 350? It’d be nice to find one...
