Metal building / pole barn owners group...

Does anyone know of a website dedicated to pole barns/metal buildings that's not just a sales site? I live in far east Tennessee. Had an order in for one to be made from an outfit in Colorado....things went downhill as delivery kept slipping. So I'm looking for a "user/owner" group to see...

    Accessory vendors?

Gents Ive been looking for a smaller digging bucket (16-20"range), a stump-puller /root ripper, and a wider plain/grading bucket (with no teeth) for a KX080. Where do you guys buy this stuff? Do you go to OEM?

    KX080-4 thumb control

Rookie question: Got a used Kubota a few weeks ago. Out this morning clearing trees and brush I went to close the thumb and it had quit working. Got off to take a look and the hose had come uncoupled at the quick release (dont know how). I'm trying to reconnect the hose but I cant get the...

    Steel vs Rubber tracks

I just bought a used Kubota (KX 080-4) excavator. Rubber tracks in good condition. Can you work an excavator with rubber tracks the same as you would with steel tracks?

Pulls slight right going fwd, dead straight when backing up

Hi Gents....I'm not alarmed by the problem. Bobcat 442. Pulls slightly right when driving toward the blade (fwd) (maybe 2 ft to the right in 100' of travel) but goes dead straight when "backing up". Anything I should be watching for?

Why don't larger excavators have a blade

I have a Bobcat 442...not a large excavator by any stretch and it has a blade on the front for leveling/grading/pushing stuff around. Why don't you ever see large excavators with a blade? Probably a stupid question...

    Sloppy fit

Working with my first excavator. Some of the pins/bushings in the bucket/arm linkage are (to me) a little sloppy. They wiggle around more than I like. Sometimes its useful (when shaking dirt off a stump or out of a slash pile) but mostly it's just annoying. Do you guys replace these...

    Grading with an excavator

I'm having a heck of a time. I bought a small excavator in good shape. I'm in the process of clearing a couple acres of heavily timbered land on my property..the excavator has done that very well. But now I need to make the area graded and walkable...it doesn't have to be like a golf...

    Hi. I fix ships

Hello Gents, Just now getting into the world of heavy equipment that doesn't float. I'm a Port Engineer for a medium sized (~350 ft) west coast hopper dredge...it keeps me busy trying to keep it operational. I just bought an old Bobcat 442 excavator and am learning to use...

    Tracks on a Bobcat 442

Hello gents. I very recently bought a used Bobcat 442 excavator....so far, so good. Plenty of power to do what I need, runs smooth, no leaks. I'm trying to adjust the steel (not rubber) tracks and the owners manual is unclear about where to check it. If I lift the left side track off the...
