I'd say he wants a used transmission. Already has a busted one and wants another busted one to try and make a good one out of the two busted ones.

Doesn't look like Lantana to me. Looks more like what we call pig weed. I spent 10yrs up the Cape and don't remember seeing any pig weed, so don't know if it actually grows that far north.

What kind of tool is this?

I had to google that. I reckon it would be pretty uncomfortable using it that way as well. But to each there own.

What kind of tool is this?

Yeah, lacing fid is basically a big needle, and as I said it wouldn't pull through being the shape it is. I didn't think it through further to a splicing fid, where it's just used to separate the rope stands. But looking at pictures online, most of the splicing fids have a big rounded end on...

What kind of tool is this?

Rather than start a new post, I'll resurrect this one. Anyone know what this could have been used for? Looks blacksmith made, first thought was a big lacing fid, but the step in front of the hole wouldn't pull through rope or whatever else you were pushing it through. It actually does function...

    Precombustion chamber temperature???

Just thinking I've never seen an hour metre read more than 10000hrs, but if the 3 in the first white "dial" is tenths of an hour, what's the far right dial? I've also never seen an hour metre read less than tenths of an hour either.

    Precombustion chamber temperature???

Got the flu, so haven't left yet. Cleaning up all the parts I removed to see if anything is worth saving, didn't really look at this when I pulled it off other than it was broken. I'm guessing even though the last readable number is white, that because there is another "dial" to the left of it...

Yeah I've only got a tiny bit of softwood scrub country, so no real dramas with dieback. Probably the one good thing with having breeder forest country is its mostly native grasses. Although I did rip a bit of heavier red soil in paddock on a new block that was a bit degraded by a previous owner...

    Giving warranty on used equipment

Yeah I don't know about overall quality, but here's my 2c. Had a 180amp Chinese inverter mig, used mostly for welding gal cattle rail, building cattle yards. Had it 10yrs, never failed to work, had a few wire feed issues, but probably more wire than welder. Got sick of carting it between...

    Selling equipment

Yeah I've done it a few times, only with smaller things though. Though they were a bit dear and didn't want to drive all that way and they wouldn't move on price. I still look the item over and make sure they represented it fairly and then stood by my offer. It hasn't happened yet, but if I...

    Precombustion chamber temperature???

Sorry to say I don't have any, I thought I did but nothing on phone. It's now totally together and I degreased the side of the block where it was dribbling down with the exhaust manifold was removed. I'll be trucking it up to my properties in a few days, I have a bit of slashing that needs...

    Precombustion chamber temperature???

Ended up just swapping the injectors, slobber stayed in the front exhaust port. So best guess it's just normal slobbering from cold cylinder temps on #1. I'll give it some more work, try and find something productive for it to do where I can load it up for an extended period and see if that does...
