    LS 170 Electrical Problems

Turned out to be a bad EIC. Ordered a reman'ed unit and it fired right up like new.

    LS170 just shutoff, Than nothing...

The EIC is the electronic information center (control panel) in the cab. It's the part that knows if the seat switch and seat belt switch say that you are ready to go and let the engine and hydraulics operate. Possible that you have a short in the wiring harness somewhere. I just went through...

    Backhoe bucket question, cover teeth

Post 33 in this thread https://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/showthread.php?4445-Grading-Blade-for-excavator&highlight=crumbing+blade shows one that I made a while back. This guy sells them if you don't want to make your own. http://site-1414520094282-5004272069785694057.webs.com/

    LS 170 Electrical Problems

All the fuses are good, all of the pins /conditions above check out good. Just in case anyone is referencing this thread later - The seat belt harness and pin 11 on p2 only get power if the seat switch is closed while the seat belt is buckled. I had the seat switches out and that one took me...

    LS 170 Electrical Problems

Thanks. I know that I have the constant power to the end pin on one of the connectors but that was all I could tell before. This will help me wring it out.

    LS 170 Electrical Problems

Hello all, My LS 170 was running fine the other day and suddenly died as if the key was turned off. The EIC panel began to flash on and off erratically only once in a while staying on long enough to get through the self test and back to the glow plug count/ engine start point. I checked the...

    Rebuild air cylinder?

Thanks guys, I'll have to pull it to try and get a model number. CM - Yep, it's on the Pete with the Ox. They have several listed on the parts site. Fingers crossed that it will be the cheapest one. I'm betting that shipping will add a chunk to the price though. I guess we'll see this week.

    Rebuild air cylinder?

The air cylinder on my tailgate latch has is leaking. Can they be rebuilt like you would rebuild a hydraulic cylinder? Anyone have a source for parts?

Birds in the shop- how to get rid of them?

Snakes. :D No really, I used to use rubber toy snakes back when we had an airplane that was bird targeted. You had to move them around every couple days though.

    Solideal OTT Rubber Tracks- Experience

My first impressions of the camoplast Solideal tracks. I had to modify my LS-170 some to get a good fit. It has a "fender" that runs over the tires and originally had a 45* drop along its length. I had to remove this to get enough clearance for the tracks. Zip disc in a 7" grinder went...

Road grading with a "Roadrunner" front end skis steer attachment

Very quick, there is a "T" handle welded to the top of the screw - just spin them by hand. They have a jam nut on the screw but I never use it.

Road grading with a "Roadrunner" front end skis steer attachment

I have a roadrunner and it has been great. I got mine with both the 3 point hitch and the quicktach plate to use with both the tractor and the skid steer. I generally use it behind the tractor but it's just a personal preference. It has been great for maintaining gravel or asphalt milling...

    Solideal OTT Rubber Tracks- Experience

That's my thinking too, without a center roller I'm not sure how much flotation I'll get. That said - I just ordered a set of the camoplast HXD's and I'll give them a try. http://www.camoplastsolideal.com/construction-tracks/products/over-the-tire-tracks Looks like a different tread pattern...

    Solideal OTT Rubber Tracks- Experience

RT - Did you buy the skid with the Solideal tracks? If so what do you think of them? I'm thinking of getting a set for my New Holland as I need more flotation but can't afford a real CTL right now.

Maybe you could describe your experience for us. And I'm still waiting for an explanation on how a "universal bridge law" that still has each state making changes to it as they see fit is any different that what we have now.:beatsme

Ball Bearing is a important tool for the Industry.

Ball bearings have many other uses as well. They can be ammo for a slingshot or a bucketful can be poured onto the shop floor as coworkers are walking about... a la The 3 Stooges. Yes Ball Bearings are wonderful things.

Bob, it's true that the bridges capacity wouldn't change. Here's an abstract from a Minnesota study on this very topic. The bridges along the chosen routes were inspected to ensure that they could handle the increased load. I guess that the bridges were built with excess capacity. :)...
