    Vertical Upwelds

I take it you know how to do basic flat welding? What might be a thing to try is have someone who is good at vertical welding run a pass, and watch through your helmet what they are doing. Then try one yourself, and have that person watch you. They should be able to guide you while you are...

    Caterpillar D10L ?

The original D10 was known as a D10 with no letter prefix after it. Most people say 10L due to it was in production when the 9L and 8L came out. But this is actualy the same size machine as the modern day D11. When the D8L came out Cat had made to big of a size jump in that machine compared to...

    Cat 641A/651A/657A Scrapers

Thanks for the info Dug, I have heard that they were sold out to a few workers before Skanska bought them. I know the red rops are now a darker shade of blue on some machines, and looks like all the new machines have cabs.

    Cat 641A/651A/657A Scrapers

Dug, Do you know why E.L. Yeager sold out? Do you know how big of a fleet they had? Had read about them back in the mid eighties, through Highway and Heavy Equipment magazine articles. It was different seeing a 992C with just an open red ROPS.
