I have 1835B Case Skid Steer with 188D engine-fuel uptake question

Hey Tim Couple things. First, you have to use a diesel specific inline pump, typically rotary vs diaphragm action used on carbed motors. The reason being is you don’t ever really build pressure the pumps runs continuously and what fuel is not used is returned to the tank. I had a couple...

    09 PT 30 starting issues ??

I think that’s it. Get the engine to turn over and fuel is next

    09 PT 30 starting issues ??

Looking at your filter pic, precleaner is clearly visible right behind it. The bottom of plastic has a hex cast into it, I think it’s 1 1/16”

    09 PT 30 starting issues ??

Ok, looking at your picture you have two reds (battery hot) below with a wire on top. In between separating them is a small rectangular block of plastic. The terminal for white wire is to the left, towards engine of plastic block. Got a mirror on a stick? So looking at solenoid only it’s...

    09 PT 30 starting issues ??

Cant get picture to post . I could get it to you email, maybe PM it? Long stories short, the white wire on my machine is power to starter solenoid, hot only when keyed to start position. Use a trouble light, check your white wire to see if it’s key hot. The fuel precleaner is directly behind...

    09 PT 30 starting issues ??

Ok, that’s the primary filter. Will try to get pics of precleaner for fuel and starter wiring

    09 PT 30 starting issues ??

I think there might be two things going on. First thing I would do would be to verify when you go to start starter solenoid is getting battery voltage. I would make sure battery is fully charged then load test at an auto parts store. It might make good surface voltage that collapses under any...

    CAT 247b No Start Issue

Do you have 12.5 from battery hot to frame? Take apart all grounds and clean. A bad ground can pass the micro current that will allow a volt meter will read as 12.5 but when you try a much higher amperage it won’t go.

    Tak TL120

Good morning. That machine does not have pins that engage, but a brake pack that is disengaged by hydraulic pressure. The fact the controls go dead is a huge diagnostic tip, these have what is termed “pilot pressure“ ran to them, the controls send this pilot pressure to the actual valve and it...

My old Skid Steer has started to start then quickly stall.

Back in the day I was working on a case 480 backhoe, same 188, or 207 motor. Same problem. After much head scratching, it turned out that there is a rubber gasket/diaphragm inside the injection pump that starts to rot out over time. The little pieces would be drawn into into a passage inside...

    SVL-75 track trouble

Avoid counter rotating- do three point turns whenever possible Watch angle of attack going up slopes, much better to go straight on as opposed to going up at a shallow angle If the grounds has rock, make a conscious effort to keep material out of UC The Tak I used to own was bad at this as...

CASE 1845c Restoration. Follow my progress!

Great platform to start with. (Simple, rugged and dependable) Funny how those three go hand in hand. Best engine ever put in a skiddy, imho. Known to go 10k+ hours before rebuilding. Made by a major company for many years, parts should be no problem. Looking forward to watching your progress !

    DAVIS Trencher

Looks like a Wisconsin TJD,had similar in a Ditch Witch many years ago. Your chain is set up pretty aggressive, farm dirt you’ll be ok, any type of rock you may want to narrow it. Am I seeing it correctly, the outermost hydraulic pump only has one line to it, is one missing?

    TL130 with a miss

Can you force it to miss by sending hydraulics into relief, bucket curl all the way back, lift all the way down? If so, have someone in the cab doing this while you crack high pressure lines one at a time at the injector to see if if there is one injector that when the high pressure is cracked...

    Bent con rod- any ideas?

John C., are you sure it’s cast as opposed to forged? I’m kinda wondering if the rods aren’t made out of Chineseium. Or like someone mentioned a bad batch. Head was not pressure tested, but no signs of wash out or blown head gasket. Not too late to test it, good thought!

    Bent con rod- any ideas?

Lots of great suggestions here, thanks. I've rented to this guy for 3 years, I kinda believe him when he says no ether. Rest of motor is like new, no other damage Great idea on checking the injectors, I did, the shop that bench tested said the injector from the bad hole was the worst of the...

    Bent con rod- any ideas?

Machine has 3 cylinder Perkins, under 500 hours, out of a ASV PT 30, went out on rent and came back with a miss that mostly went away when warm. Some blue smoke when cold, the renters say no one used ether, it wasn't rolled, no gas in diesel, didn't get water into motor- I'm at a loss. Tear...

    Davis/Case 40 + 4 Std Trencher

Those outside cutters will take a lot of stress- maybe get some 1" bar stock and just fab your own. I would not use pipe. It's important that bolt goes through one side of chain, into spacer bushing, through other side of chain then into 1" spacer you fabbed, as opposed to just bolting to one...

    Davis/Case 40 + 4 Std Trencher

There's a company called Ballantine that deals with a lot of aftermarket trencher parts. The "correct" way is to have a spacer in between chain and tooth. They most likely would have these. Downside besides cost is you would most likely need longer bolts, I think every sixth tooth would be fine.
