    580M Bell Housing Hole

They were open from the factory and I have never seen a bad result from leaving them open. If you choose to plug it, I would prefer a vented plug, that's just a personal opinion.

Allmand 425 Backhoe motor pulling down

From a dead stop if you mash the pedal you can expect it to stall. I am not saying you do not have a problem if it stalls with the hydraulic or steering but with a hydro you control speed and motion with a pedal and only use as much pedal movement as the speed you want to go and you use the...

    580SE Power Shuttle Fluid Question

If you have a pre C series 580 with power shuttle that is completely normal as they have a wet bell housing and require a sealed starter and a starter gasket

    Case 580 k phase 1 shuttle

It is very easy to cut those small sealing rings on the feed tube that goes back into the shaft, I always stick them in the groove with thick sticky grease and work them down to make sure they are tight in the bottom of the groove. I always double check them before I button one up.

Case relief valve disassembly....how is it done?

Seems to! I do not believe there is any difference between the swings and I would not flip them, the restrictors being in the proper line is all that matters. Keep us posted and there are a bunch of good minds on here to guide you along, I do not mean to hog this one but I have many years in...

Case relief valve disassembly....how is it done?

The main relief is in the loader valve, if you have service info you should be able to locate it. IIRC it is on the inside of the spools toward the operators platform facing front. should have an acorn nut on it. I am not familiar with the extra valves you are dealing with but the Commercial...

Case relief valve disassembly....how is it done?

Looking at your pictures you were wise to follow up on disassembling them, after a thorough cleaning and new Orings I would lightly grease the spring area to prevent rusting, The problem with secondaries is that most are set above main relief substantially, I have heard of people increasing...

Case relief valve disassembly....how is it done?

If you disassemble these valves you must have them put in a fixture and reset to specs, our dealership has a fixture that you screw the valves into and use a handpump to reset them to spec. If they are to low the machine will not work to spec and if they are to high, cylinder barrels and rods...

Case 480c outriggers won't lift tractor

The hoe is fed through the loader control valve, on the outlet side of the loader control valve toward the fuel tank where the hose goes to the hoe circuit there is an oring that seals on the fitting and the valve interior to direct oil flow through the valve and out to the hoe valve, those have...

The E has the CDC ( Cummins) and the water pump is located low on the front of the block, nothing close to the head area.

Case 1840 Hydrostatic Drive Issue Please HELP

When the thread started I was certain it would end up here, If it were mine I would get a flat thick piece of glass, some 400 grit wet emery cloth and using light oil I would first polish the brass piston cups, then figure 8 the piston block commutator area , if you watch carefully you can see...

    Case 480c swing is slow.

That hoe valve body has check valves that have o rings on them that are a known problem that cause exactly what you are experiencing, they are located under the secondary relief valve cartridges. Replace them all and use Case's Orings, garden variety Orings are not good enough for that application.

    Case 480c swing is slow.

I would not do anything before I uncovered the pedal and valve control rods and linkages, once the covers are removed the spool travel can be watched to see if it is going fully in both directions till it is stopped by full travel by the valve internals. do not assume a hydraulic problem till...

    580c Starter Circuit Wire Guage

I have done many on backhoes and skid steers and have never had need for a sealed socket, these setups can be hooked up and zip stripped to anything , mounting them has never been an issue

    580c Starter Circuit Wire Guage

Yes, they can even be bought with a sealed socket but you may have to shop online for that, if you go that route use a bit of dielectric grease on the socket and relay blades. another thing I have been doing is tying one side of the relay coil onto the hot 12v wire, that way you only need a...

    Tractor supply hydraulic fluid

I am not in a position to know about TSC oil products but worked my 50+ year career at a Case dealership and we sold hundreds of these units over the years, I have seen firsthand the results of off brand oils. I have seen gland seals so brittle they broke up into pieces trying to remove them, I...

    580c Starter Circuit Wire Guage

I worked many years on those machines and my advice is to use a Bosch Style relay at the starter. From new even the standard wiring was marginal and not heavy enough to reliably start with the Nippon starter which take a lot of solenoid current. Those relays are cheap and NAPA has a matching...
