Case 580 SE fuel sender, rebuild or replace

How about a adjustable fuel sender with gauge? https://bwparts.com/oil-pressure-gauge-and-sending-unit-generic.html https://bwparts.com/oil-pressure-gauge-and-sending-unit-generic.html

My old Case 530 Roosa Master pump

A person MIGHT get lucky and do the overhaul without a hitch, but I wouldn't suggest it. I've broke my share of cam screws and cover screws, but after a few time, you learn the tricks when disassembling. There's more to just rebuilding these pumps. There is the calibration and all that goes...

My old Case 530 Roosa Master pump

I'd suggest you take the pump to a InjectionShop for rebuild. If the cam screw splits/breaks while trying to remove it(it can be a tough bugger to remove), you'll have bought yourself more problems. It's not as easy as using the Cam Screw Tool(bristle tool), it's knowing HOW to use the tool...

My old Case 530 Roosa Master pump

Case 530, Manufactured 1960-1969. Just know, we're all in the same boat here. I did find where this system does not having a check, so you are correct(this time). No problem. Glad I could help.

My old Case 530 Roosa Master pump

The check is to maintain case-pressure near 3-4 psi, and also to preventing return fuel from entering the pump housing during low case pressure. Most, if not all pumps will operate without the check in place. When the governor flex ring degrades, particles of it become lodged in the check and...

My old Case 530 Roosa Master pump

SA. It may not look as in the diagram I posted. It may be a 90° fitting, or a "Tee". The purpose of the check is to prevent return fuel from entering the pump, blocking fuel delivery from the fuel tank return line, or injector return line. Of course, you might know that.

    OH&S in Australia

In the refinery I used to work in(retired now) a worked had to be Certified in whatever Craft he was to perform. It was a safety regulation. I have so many certification cards, they won't all fit in my wallet.

You can bypass the Check Fitting(just below fitting #5) by removing it, to operate the engine temporarily. I'd also add, replace the injectors while you're at it. Also, the Check Fitting will need to be replace. When the Flex Ring(#22) comes apart, it plugs the Check Fitting.

What type of excavator valve in the picture

I have see both breaker(hammer) and thump plumbed into the same valve circuit using a manually Operated Diverter Valve. Although, the Relief Pressure must be fairly close to the same if doing so.

What type of excavator valve in the picture

This is on the Aux Valve? You can drive the Thumb with it, in place of the breaker. Yes, the relief pressure will need to be adjusted as per the manufacturer's specs.

What type of excavator valve in the picture

Is this the location? (Red Circle) If so, it's a relief valve.

What type of excavator valve in the picture

From looking at the diagram, it looks to be a "Circuit Relief", or a "Holding valve".

    Just some work pics

What?? That seem a bit high priced. Of course, I haven't bought one in a while. If you need anything for the Galion, contact these guys. Call their Baton Rouge, La. location. I feel they are the most knowledgeable. Ask for Frankie(Store Manager). They handle other product lines, but specialize...

    Just some work pics

Sorry for the sideways pic. Here is a copy of the Control Valve page. Item # 6 is a O-ring. Two O-rings are used on each spool section. They are to seal the Covers(#9 and #21) at each end of the valve sections(housings A-H). Housings A through H have drain-back holes that allow oil from...

    Just some work pics

The spool-to-valve section is a machine fit with no o-rings. However, there are seals(o-rings) between the valve sections. Also, if the drain-back hole(I mentioned earlier) is restricted, back-pressure will build and cause leaking. I have a Galion Manual around here somewhere. I'll post the...

Crane Operator, nice pics. I noticed the Galion 150FA came from the NES yard(regular rentals, Ph. number on boom) in Geismar, La.. I worked for the NES Crane Division for 14 years, and retired 2 weeks before the United Rentals buy-out last March(2017). The Crane Division is base out of...

    Just some work pics

There is no O-ring in the valve spool itself. The boot fills with oil as that section is being used. The oil then drains back through a hole in the spool section when in the neutral position. When oil leaks from the boot, it is either cracked, or has a hole in it. Replacing the boot will the leak.

    Keeping your sanity

Almost the same here with a small chest-type freezer, half full of shrimp. Not bait shrimp, cleaned & de-headed eating shrimp. My daughter mentioned a couple time that something smelled funky in the(outside) utility room. I thought nothing of it at first(her's always complaining about...
