This should make it easy to work out- will a crankshaft Part number - 4M0447 fit into the D8K tractor with serial number 76V00670 I don't want to change any horsepowers around or anything stupid like that I just want to make one good D342 out of two bad ones!!! Cheers -

You would be lucky if it was a water pump but in saying that I would check the water pump if I was you and make sure there isn't a wasp nest or anything blocking the drain or " tell tail " hole up I've come across this ONCE before -

Caterpillar D9H top radiator tank
We have a D9H at the moment with a stuffed top radiator tank, it's a cast tank part number 7N0693 we have found another tank to replace it but it's about 1000km away and the bloke who has it is telling me it's a pressed steel tank does anyone know if these tanks interchange or if there are 2... -

D5C steering adjustment procedure needed
100% agree, I know I have found over the years that everyone always adjusts the brake bands only, on D7/8/9 tractors, while in the meantime all the other pins and rods between the operator and brake bands are wearing their way out of adjustment, you can really feel the difference in the steering... -

Not sure about the D5C, but general rule of thumb for flat track cat dozers, ( the old ones that is!! ) tighten the adjuster all the way up so it wont go any further, then back the nut off one full turn, or 6 notches (you can feel it click on every side of the adjustment nut/rod) I have never... -

like Cmark I think you have a flow problem to, you stated earlier in the piece that you have about 20 degrees C of temperature drop over your radiator (from top to bottom tank) in my opinion ( feel free to disagree ) this is about twice what it should be, I think you shouldn't have anymore than... -

Fiat AT7C dozer blowing oil from exhaust after oil change
doesn't sound good, normally if you overfill a crankcase you get oil maybe coming out of your engine breather, not exhaust! good luck but -

Thanks R D G, mate these old machines are when they use in heaven! I love this old gear, that old 9h broke down in about 1999 I think we found out so this week was the first time she's turned a track in about 15 yrs! Full engine rebuild -

we have a D7G (65V) I think is the same config as the 92v it has the folded core radiator in it, it would run hot after about an hour of operation, even walking the machine in second gear would get it hot, we replaced all the cores with genuine cat cores and it has run cool as since, its hard to...
