    Good Brand/models of older telehandlers

How many foot does your 6k reach? Have you ever set trusses with it? One thing i like about some of the 6k models is the fact that i might be able to transport with a goosneck deck over.

    Good Brand/models of older telehandlers

I'm in the market for a telehandler, thinking around 8000# model. Machine will not be used much so i would like a purchase price of around $20k. What are some of the good one's to keep an eye out for? If i was suggesting to someone a good budget skid loader i would tell them a Case 1845C, pretty...

    Finally got new Case

I think Case kept the smaller skids "18xx like" on purpose. They were so popular Case wanted a newer machine for people to get into that liked that style. Most people that I know that have 420/430 were once 18 series owners. Run a 440 and up and there a diffrent machine IMO.

Rescue of a 62 year old.

Cool pics and story! I wonder if anything modern would still run after being under silt and water for 60 years?

    Best All Around Skid Steer

Tak Has there own UC, they are the original manufacturer of CTL's. Tak's have more metal on metal than the others, makes for a rougher louder ride, but also the strongest. Tak's were designed from the ground up as CTL's unlike the others that take there wheel loaders and adapt Berco UC's on them.

    Case 450CT

You always want to hit curbs or other hard object carefully and slow, i have heard a few people say that curbs are ctl killers. Not only can you do idler damage, you can also break a chord in a track.

Looking for a new compact track loader

This is the problem I have with Cat, I talked to some guys from a large company that buy nothing but Cat, including there skids because they take care of them so well on the larger equipment, and they did not recomend them, said even with the suspension they rattle them selfs apart. Then the...

Looking for a new compact track loader

A freind of mine bought the extended warranty on a Deere 270 that he had, and it saved his ass. $6000 in drive repairs at under 800 hrs. Of course Deere nor the dealer had any record that he bought the warranty, had to tear his house apart to find the reciept (not vary organized).

Looking for a new compact track loader

From what I have seen the TK/Gehls/Mus seam to be the better quality machine, ( i have not known any one with a Cat CTL yet) From what I have seen they do way better than the CNH, Deere, or BC CTL's. What problems have you had?

    Bobcat 863 headgasket query!!!!

I did my old 873 myself, Everyone above pretty much explained it, the only place that I could find the large torx at the time was companys like Snap On and Mac. IF you let the gasket go to long the motor can run and over rev even if you shut the key off, so be carefull if its real bad.

    bobcat 873 big problem?

Hard to diagnose off what you said but, it Could be your head gasket, which the duets is known for, be careful running it because if it gets to bad you have to figure out a way to shut it down because the engine keeps running off the oil. I had A 97 and the gasket went bad at 900 Hours. If your...

    Walk behind plate compactor

I would think the one in the link has to be junk for that kind of money, I would stik with brands like Wacker, Multiquip Mikasa, or Bomag, something that has A Honda, Robins or similar gas engine that you will always be able to get parts for. You might want to look or place a wanted add on...

I found a bobcat T-300 and need some advice

I am not A Bobcat fan I have had them and liked there performance but, thought the build quality was not there. T300 are good performing machines, but in my opinion A 3000 hour CTL is going to be A money pit. Used Equipment is going realy cheap right now take your time and wait for A lower hour...

    bobcat t-180 , 257 or mtl16 (tl130)

The Takeuchi's (mustang CTL's) perform way better than the stats list, especially (sp?) for lifting, it will kill the Bobcat in all categories, T190 and 180 are some of the worst ctl's IMO. The Cat's are performers, but you have that high maintnance tracks and drives. if the Mustang is in good...

Get the Mustang, the others don't compare, especialy the T180.

    takeuchi - track Loaders

They are awesome machines, IMHO the best as far as durability, the only problem is that you mention snow removal, Tak's and other CTL's suck at snow removal they go over deep snow great but frozen ground and snow covered concrete can get hairy. The ASV and Cat's are better at snow removal

    Bobcat 883 with Duetz Diesal

I had A 873, I liked it for it's time, They are prone to head gasket problems, which if your a mechanical person you can replace it yourself, mine went out at 900 hrs. In typical BC fashion one of the drive motors went bad at 800 hrs. Some of the fuel rails they used were junk, mine was not...

    Deere Smackdown.com web site

Deere machines have good power for there size, and awesome lift capacity on there bigger machines, but they lose a lot of buissnes with there cab's, especially the enclosed one's. I can not beleive they have not changed them after all these years. As far as working on the machines there not the...
