    Case 9020B

Still have a CASE 9030B which we just repacked all the hydraulic cylinders. The machine is strong and smooth, just can't sell it for any $$. We use it for a backup but it is still reliable at 18 years of age. We rebuilt the undercarriage 2 years ago. Never had problems (yet) with the pump...

I need some advice on what size excavator I will need for a strange job....

Sorry in advance, but I have to suggest a lane closure with approved traffic control and certified flaggers if required. We work with SCDOT and provide control traffic on "busy" roads in SC daily. Georgia shouldn't be any different. As to the excavator if that is where you end up, remove the...

    Equipment financing help

Check with your CAT dealer on equipment and CAT Finance. Great to work with in my opinion.

    Asphalt Recycling

Check out Powerscreen. We rented one of their units last year to crush our asphalt pile.

    Online auction for heavy equipment

I have bought from IronPlanet over the last 6 years. I haven't had any problems with any aspect of their process. My purchases range from small to large (EDCO concrete grinder to CAT 330D excavator). Have found some hard to find items for excellent price. The IP people are knowledgeable and can...

Curious Why They Mill Miles of Rural Highway Before Overlay

Millings are valuable now because the AC content (Asphalt Cement), petroleum base of course, makes the recycling into DOT jobs a requirement. The makeup in the plant hot mix asphalt of RAP (recycled asphalt product) can be very high, > 25%.

    paver screed issues

Your screed lift cylinders may need to be rebuilt (new packings/seals) to stop the uneven lift. When you set your screed down on the mat or boards that you start from, the screed is in "float", the lift cylinders are not putting any hydraulic pressure down or up. Check for wear in your bushings...

    Jobs on bid question.

Check your builder/contractor sources on similar structures and get feedback from the current owners. Find a trustworthy contractor and negotiate with him. Set schedule, price, and pay schedule. Better than the low bid process by far. Too many willing to stick you if possible. I agree with CM...

    shop management and inventory

Like you guys, large majority CAT equipment, Ford trucks, 2 lowboys, 7 tri-axle dumps. Front room of Shop has Kimball-Midwest hardware store (standard and metric), shelf with pre-boxed total service kit for every truck, every piece of iron. Service, refill box, put back on shelf. Small stuff is...

    New to me 2011 321DLCR

We do get 'some' tire scrub but not to be described as being eaten away. My tire wear on the 25XPT is acceptable for the amount of use we put these trailers through. I have a 20XPT also. We pull the trailers with tri-axle trucks (3rd axle is a lift). Eager Beaver did not offer the lift axle...

    New to me 2011 321DLCR

Nice choice on the 321. I bought a CAT 320DLRR (used through my dealer) for the same reasons in August. Really like the reduced radius. Our SC CAT dealer sounds like yours. No other dealer comes close here. I have an Eager Beaver 25XPT tri-axle trailer (no lift), bought new 13 years ago. Still...

    Question to basement diggers

I have a CAT 320CL and a CAT 320DLRR (several other sizes, too). I have 2 lowboys (55t and 35t), a 20 ton tag and a 25 ton tag trailer. The tags are both Eager Beaver (25t is 3 axle). Move either of the 320s with the 25t tag behind a dump truck legally. I am in SC. I also use the dealer here for...

    Cat 308 Opinions

Bought a CAT 308E new a year ago. Quick attach for buckets (regular and tilt) and a hi-flow cutter head. This machine is excellent for everything we ask of it. CAT may have a machine tuned to low end or mid of the hydraulic capability but will adjust per customer request. We also run 303.5 CCR...

    road rage

I have six tri-axle dump trucks and two road tractors pulling lowboys or dump trailers. Also have 10 other work trucks pulling trailers, arrow boards, welders, or whatever. My direction to the guys is, treat every vehicle around you as if your family is driving them. Be safe, not slow, but...

    Pnumatic roller lifting mat

Try adding dishwashing detergent to your water tank. The soap will create a thin film on your rubber tires. We can actually get on our asphalt with more heat in it with the detergent in the water.

Neal Manufacturing DA 350 seal kote 3 wheeled buggy

I have one we bought new in the '80s. We have used it over the years extensively. It is still fully operational today. Parts are available with little searching. The pumps are fully rebuildable.
