    EGS's pictures from work

Yes I do work for FMI. Those huge stockpiles are called "Tailing Dam's" That's what is left over after the smelting process. That powdery dirt is pumped up on those dam's in liquid form in small lifts. I never worked in a smelter, I was always lucky enough to avoid that place and work in...

    EGS's pictures from work

Where was it Evan? Kinda looks like Morenci, maybe Sierrita? Any way, Morenci has run Komatsu 930E's in the past when those trucks were a real hot item. I also know they ran 797 Cat's there. Last I heard the production was all 793B's, C's, and D's. I'd heard that the 797's couldn't handle...

    P&H 4100A Pictures

It's amazing how sensitive the controls are on the shovel, and FAST. I much prefer the electric rope shovels to the hydraulic 5230 we have. I haven't run an electric over hydraulic so I couldn't say on that. I do know that P&H shovels run different from BE shovels. I can't remember which is...

    Extended Cab KW

That's fantastic! I used to drive a T-800 day cab and would have payed good money to do that. I guess KW finally got the message and now offers an extended cab, as do some aftermarket companies.

    Who's Run the Largest Equipment?

What's your impression of the 797 and the 24H?? I imagine your road maintenance must be a nightmare with that soft ground.

can operator license be used in another state

Is that just for public work? Or does that hold true for mines and quarry's?

    union work or no work

A union is only as strong and healthy as it's members. If it's members go bankrupt and have to leave the area what good did that do to anybody? Take care of your family. It's hard to explain to your wife and kids that your more loyal to your union than to them, good luck with that one.

can operator license be used in another state

This whole thing sounds like a scam to me..... reminds me of a joke I once heard about a duck hunter and a nosy game warden. That's for another day. In New Mexico we don't require any licenses for anything except a forklift and a crane. I have never been checked for a forklift license though...
