Case 580K water in fuel, running again, follow-up?

As Delmer suggested, I think you're best off installing a filter with a water separator. They're only about $50.

Case 580K water in fuel, running again, follow-up?

As ks suggested, you may want to consider biocide if you rarely use this machine. Condensation forms on the walls of the tank, so it is a must to keep the tank full (you didn't mention this in your op). Keeping the tank full will minimize any condensation. Also, I would be very careful using...

    Another fatality. Cherry picker.

According to reports, rather than cribbing, the outriggers were set on rubber mats [on unstable soil]. Additionally, part of the boom was supported by some kind of beam that snapped, and when it did so, the entire boom tipped over. Never heard of such a thing (rubber mats rather than cribbing...

    International 3400A questions

Hey Chad: Welcome to the forum! First, it should be blatantly obvious if it will shift out of third gear...top speed will tell you. It sounds like your linkage may be detached. Second, I would not be guessing on what type of fluids to use...I would purchase a manual so you install the...

    Volvo Backhoes

Wow. Way to revive a 90 month old thread. ;) Welcome to Heavy Equipment Aahz. You are probably far better off, and will receive more feedback, by starting your own thread in the attachments forum titled "Breaker recommendations for Volvo BL70"...or something like that.

2003 F250SD with the 6.0L diesel How dependable

Well, the truck is a '96 overbuilt 2500 (+8600 gvw) w/ a replaced engine (I bought the truck with the replace3d engine already installed) that has done very well by me for 7 years. No engine problems short of two glow plugs, new turbo and new exhaust manifolds. None of those issues are...

2003 F250SD with the 6.0L diesel How dependable

Ugly? May not break any speed records, but it is a dependable workhorse. I have one in one of my plow trucks. 400k on the truck, 65k on the replacement engine, which is used virtually exclusively for plowing. The 6.5 is a tough engine, easy to work on (in those rare cases), and parts are...

    CAT 3126: looking for opinions

The injectors. If memory serves, all 3116's are mechanical, and all 3126's are hydraulic. So it is a moot question of mine. The B is a later version of the 3126. My 3126's do not leak a drop. If yours is leaking that would invite a thorough perusal of the engine and maintenance records. If...

    CAT 3126: looking for opinions

3126B? Mechanical or hydraulic? I have two B's and they purr like kittens. The key to these engines is keep the oil clean, and no severe (or any) upgrades/mods. They like to run the way they were built, and will easily run 500,000 miles if taken care of, and not modified.

Yep. Follow Delmer's advice. My Terex takes mineral oil.

Most any 3-5% Moly will be adequate for most joints/fittings @ $3-$5 per tube.

    Dump truck owner operaters

Well, what are you looking to haul, and who for? If residential, you would want only a single or tandem, if commercial/industrial, only a tri or quad makes sense. When you mention "hourly rate" is sounds as if you want to sub out (yourself and your truck)...so that leads to...

    359 Pete frame issues

The problem with double frames is you cannot see the rust/fractures between the frames. In my opinion, replacement is the only proper remedy. Capping w/heavy C may last a few months...or few years? Under heavy load it may fracture.

    Newbie owner - Terex 760b

You're welcome. Diff pedal is engaged when to the floor. I believe the threads are BS. I've never had to replace a hose yet. Any good hydraulic hose shop can make you one...even some NAPA stores. Else you can order through a Terex distributor, just have your wallet out.

    Newbie owner - Terex 760b

Assuming your brake lever is in adjustment...there is an adjustment on the pads so there is proper pressure on the disc. There are two nuts on a 5" bolt. Loosen the outer nut, adjust the inner nut so that the pads are in contact with the disc (with the e brake off...obviously, and properly...

    Newbie owner - Terex 760b

I have a 760. It's a great machine. Unless you have proof that it was just serviced (at 1000 hours) the axle fluids, brake oil, brake adjustment, air filter, engine oil, transmission oil...pretty much everything has to be changed. If it was all just serviced, just stay on schedule. That is...

    Help! Towing Question

How was the tractor loaded, and what is the tongue weight (loaded)? That is the question. Assuming your hitch and suspension, and the trailer tongue, suspension and tires (and axles) are all in good order. I coast down the highway with my 12 ton empty (or partially loaded) on my 2500 Dodge...
