    Takeuchi TL230

It's a Blue Diamond Extreme 6 ft open front cutter. http://www.bluediamondattachments.com/skid-steer-brush-cutter.html I cut down about 5 acres of thickly packed sweetgums, whose stumps measured between 6 and 10 inches and then about 10 of blackberry bushes that extended way above the cab.

Changing Hydraulic fluid and cleaning suction strainer on TL230

I have 500 hrs on my TL 230 and about a 100 hrs. has been done in a one-way detent mode with a cutter. Manual says to replace hydraulic oil sooner than regular maintenance interval (1000 hrs) if used in this manner. The owners manual has one removing the engine coolant and radiator, which also...

    Takeuchi TL230

Anyone........anyone??? Bueller........Bueller??? Surely, someone else on this forum owns a Takeuchi. The hoses to the cutter did feel a bit hotter than usual, so I cleaned the radiator fins and added a little oil to hydraulic reservoir and am going to go back to work and see how it does now...

    Takeuchi TL230

When running the brush cutter in detent mode (constant one-way), it has just started to kick off the hydraulic flow going to the cutter. It will start right back up and run for a variable of time and then kick off again. I have put, almost 250 hrs on it and it's 500 hr. service is coming up. Is...

    773 F-series Engine oil light

Thanks Willie. You're, probably, correct about the crowd. Don't see too many F-series owners. I'll put the OP gauge on it tomorrow. What is your experience with other models and the light flickering?

    773 F-series Engine oil light

Dang this is a tough crowd :beatsme Changed the oil and filter in the 773 and it did not smoke when starting it cold like it was doing before. I had the threaded hole wear the oil sensor plugged, so I don't know the answer to this question. Will the light start flicker with old oil. The oil and...

    773 F-series Engine oil light

Was fixing my drive from all the rain yesterday and my engine oil light started blinking intermittently. I shut it down and open the back door and see hydraulic fluid on the battery. One of the small lines that make a U turn from a block to to the bottom of the lift cylinder had a wear spot in...

    Air Tank Mod

Thanks again for the replies.I crawled up under the GMC C6500 today and it has 2 air tanks with a bunch of lines coming out, almost, every plug. Does it matter what tank I use? Also, what are those regulator looking things? Here are some pics. Driver side front with drain and a valve stem/cover...

    Air Tank Mod

Stir crazy is the word!!!!! I have 20 more acres of under growth to clean up with my Tak TL230, Blue Diamond 72" open face cutter and a 78" Root Grapple. I, also, put the rear end back in my tractor, bought a used (from my neighbor) 8' Bush Hog brand bush hog to clean up the old established...

    Air Tank Mod

Thanks Mitch. Now if it would just quit raining, I could get out there and pull a plug and get this project done. Still wouldn't mind seeing some pics of how others have done this. Four days off and I haven't been able to even bush hog or get on my Takeuchi and take out any more sweetgums

    Air Tank Mod

Will do Birken! As I understand it the parking brakes will stay locked until air pressure is built back up in the tank, since they are engaged by the lack of air. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Air Tank Mod

Another thing, before I remove the plug and let the air out of the tank, is there anything that I need to do, except make sure it is in gear and parking brake set?

    Air Tank Mod

Thanks for all the replies. This C6500 is a Western Hauler with a goose neck set up, so it doesn't have the gladhands. I'll look for a plug in the middle. Is it necessary to put a shutoff valve between the tank and the quick connect? Is there a particular line I should get, if I decide extend...

    Air Tank Mod

Hey fellas, first post in this section. I've searched the internet and this forum, for the last few hours trying to find the info, to no avail. I'm a little embarrassed to ask this, but I'd like to be able to air up my tires or use an air tool from the on board air compressor of the Cat engine...
