Thunderbird Yarders, Loaders, and Etc from the Murray's in Eugene Oregon

TSY 155 Looking to replace/repair the Haulback and Mainline sheave at the top of the boom. Does anyone have or know where we could find one? Would like one so we could switch out and keep running while the worn sheave is repaired.

    Madill 120, opinions please.

Surprised no one has replied so far. My 2 cents. The 120 will do well as a grapple or MSP machine. The design is good for Grapple, they are capable of opening or closing the grapple during inhaul or out haul due to their oil clutches. You would be able to do that with the MSP also, but it...

    hoist line spooling

I am from a different industry, logging. We have problems with spooling lines on our yarders. Have any of you used the Lebus grooved sleeves on your winch drums? If so how well do they work? http://www.lebus-intl.com II am considering them and am looking for information on if and how well they...

Grooved Drums for spooling cable and reduced line wear.

Born2clearcut you mentioned the need to have the tension just right on the first layer with the lagging. Can you explain? We use a cat with the line doubled through the blocks on the blade corners. This gives good tension but are we enough or too much?

Grooved Drums for spooling cable and reduced line wear.

If we do it I would do the shell. 124 thanks for the contact I will call him monday. Put a new haul back on today, looked great till the third layer, then we got a big gap going to the forth layer. A stick got us going but those layers will be coming off as we are going farther back. I am...

Grooved Drums for spooling cable and reduced line wear.

Has anyone used Lebus International http://lebus-intl.com/ for their grooved sleeves for winch drums on their yarders? I understand that Madill 120 and 124 come with grooved drums either standard or or as an option. We have a Thundebird TSY155 with smooth drums and am considering the sleeves...

    Rigging question

We call pendant straps the lines from the gantry to the boom on a swing yarder. we replace every 18 months since we have seen pendant straps fail from corrosion inside the poured socket. We have tried to upend our pedant lines every 6 months thinking that we can help extend life from water...

    MSP Carriages

Our Yarder is a Thunderbird TSY155. We have been grappling with it mostly and switched to chokers for this harvest unit. The line showed several burn marks which we cutout about 300 feet on Friday when the haulback broke, I will try to take a picture and post. Have noticed the haulback wrapup...

    MSP Carriages

We have a Thunderbird MSP, think it was Danebo before Thunderbird bought them. We do not always go through two tailhold blocks when on stumps. When we are on the cat for a tailhold it is two blocks, our tailhold shovel is one shiv, 24" in diameter.
